How to fertilize Cryptocoryne crispatula var. tonkinensis
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Cryptocoryne crispatula var. tonkinensis after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Help guys i can't name him. He was a leftover from rescaping my tank [TC gives you a LOT of plants]. Unlike my Wendts' tho, this guy was already in a semi-aquatic environment, so he pretty much converted overnight. Those that do aquascaping/planted tanks would know 😉 [or at least saw my previous posts about my Cryptocoryne wendtii] Now help me name him 😈 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #PlantLove #AquaticPlants #HelpMeNameMyPlant #NameMyPlants

Background story: I was doing a water change on my aquarium, when one of my Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Brown' got uprooted and I broke off the roots [the plant in particular was a pup still hanging on to it's runner]. So I thought, Why not try growing it emersed? After all, Cryptocoryne in the wild often grow emersed along river banks or marshes, before transitioning into their submerged state underwater during the rainy season until the dry spells come again. So I potted him up in some leftover aquasoil in a disposable drinking cup, and there! Meet Plato! The runner also had some growth coming from it, so right now I'm trying to get it the grow as well, so here's Pluto! First photo is my colony of Crypts :) FUN FACT: Cryptocoryne are a kind of arum or aroid, belonging to the Araceae family, meaning they are closely related to Philos, Monsteras, Pothos, Peace Lilies, Anthuriums, Alocasia, Rhaphidophora, Scindapsus and a bunch more! I've got some Anubias too, which are also arums! [4th photo] #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PropagationStation #PlantingOnABudget
