Finding light for Assorted Ferns in your home
a window
Assorted Ferns can tolerate being far from a window and light source.
Place it less than 6 feet from a south-facing window to ensure it receives enough light to survive 💪.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Assorted Ferns in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Assorted Ferns
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Assorted Ferns after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Just got this Virginia blue fern and within the week it started getting brown tips. #VirginiaBlueFern I placed it near an east saving window and have been keeping it moist. The tips of new growth browned and died off and I got a few crispy leaf tips. So i thought maybe it wasn’t humid enough. But the humidity in my house tends to be about 50-60%. It’s not that dry. So I’m not sure it was the humidity. I moved it to the bathroom that definitely gets humid. I think the crisping has stopped. But now the color of the leaves is no longer blue. It’s a very vibrant green. It seems there is a coating in the leaves that makes it have that bluish color and it seems to be gone. It looks healthy color for most plants but I want to get the blue color back. Could it be heat causing the blue color to go away? Has anyone had this experience? #HappyPlants #FernFriends

Today, I built a terrarium! I put in a fern, a begonia, a nerve plant and a random tiny plant I had laying around! Hopefully, the plants will play nicely together. In the meantime, I’m just enjoying my latest project! 😁 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #GregGang #Greggers #Terrariums #Terrarium #Terrariumtribe #NervePlant #Begonia #FernFriends #theamigos #LaSiguanaba

Autumn Fern Care Hi! I recently got a baby Autumn Fern about a week ago, and I am a little worried about its progress. Its fronds feel very dry (could be normal for the plant?) and I have noticed that a few of the fronds are broken/dying. All of the other ferns that I bought with the Autumn Fern have been thriving and growing new fronds since I repotted them, but I’m worried that my Autumn Fern is not on the right path. (Greg doesn’t let me give this as an option, but the soil is a mix of equal parts peat moss and potting soil-my ferns have liked that in the past.) Does anyone have any tips for taking care of these plants and what I may be doing wrong? Thanks in advance! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #FernFriends #AutumnFern #PlantTherapy #NewPlantMom

Crispy Leaves Hi! I am growing a Blue Star Fern, and her leaves are a little bit crunchy/crispy to the touch. No yellowing/browning as far as I know, and I water her about every 3 days. Does anyone know if this is normal or if there is something I should change? Thanks! #FernFriends #BlueStarFern #Fern #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewPlantMom #PlantAddict

Is this scorch or something else? My Fernando has gotten a lot of crispy tips. He gets the most sun out of all of my plants but doesn’t get a lot of DIRECT sun (to my knowledge). The last pic is a south facing window around 11am. I usually leave the blind drawn up 24/7 for these plants, but I’m wondering if I should keep them pulled down and open if it’s too much sun in the day? #NewPlantMom #FernFriends
