About alocasia rhino skin
Alocasias, commonly known as Elephant Ears, are some of the most common houseplants although their leaves can reach enormous sizes when grown outdoors! 🐘 They typically only support a few leaves at a time (more, when they get more sun!) so don't be concerned if you see an old leaf begin to retire after a new one emerges. They grow out of underground corms which are similar to bulbs, so next time you repot keep an eye out for baby Alocasias! They contain calcium oxalate crystals so be sure to keep them out of reach if you have children or pets! ⚠️

How to fertilize alocasia rhino skin

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your alocasia rhino skin after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Can anybody keep an alocasia thriving? Is it just because it's winter, or am I absolutely horrid at understanding alocasia needs? I have been struggling with every single alocasia I've adopted. They always lose leaves, shrivel up, look like they get a fungal infection, overwatered, etc., and I am just so exasperated by them all. My dragon scale has lost about 8 leaves since I purchased it, I've provided different levels of light, repotted, added humidity, changed locations, and still it loses leaves. Its last mature leaf is now looking like this, and even its brand new leaf is dying before it's even matured, and it's heartbreaking. Do I need to scale down pot size now that it's so much smaller? My polly plant lost its last leaf after looking like this (fungus?) leaving me with a corm once again. And my other variety (actually not sure if it's also a polly) keeps getting crazy weird spots everywhere that quickly consumes the leaf and killing it off. I've used my copper fungicide on the polly plants and it literally seems to make it worse (note the brown spots on the tips of the polly that look like it's bleeding, those show up right after spraying the leaves down even after gently shaking the excess liquid off and allowing to dry in the light) My silver dragon lost an entire plant to root rot from the store overwatering it, and I was unable to propagate the leaves successfully, so I'm left with one plant in the pot and three sad looking leaves, and my rugosa is starting to get a yellow leaf, and they're all curled up in funky shapes (though I bought it that way). Am I misdiagnosing the issues with the plants? Is this just what they do? Do they always just kill off their leaves in winter? I need alocasia expert advice! Will I ever be able to take care of my favorite plant variety? 🥺 #helpneeded #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #advice #rescueplants #silverdragon #alocasiapolly #alocasiarhinoskin #alocasiadragonscale

Update on Miss Merlot, the Alocasia Red Secret! ♥️ She is under a grow light in my bedroom and has been giving me nice big, deep red leaves. These photos DO NOT do her justice. The way the light plays off her iridescence is awe inspiring. Two new leaf shoots are popping up also! #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #alocasiaredsecret #alocasiacuprearedsecret #happyplants #jesssjungle #plantaddict #plantsmakepeoplehappy #planttherapy

I'm taking over the care of this girl from my mother. Would succulent and cactus mix be ok to use? Do you think she needs a bigger pot? Thank you #BlackVelvetAlocasia

Have I broken her?! Hey! I thought the issue may be sunburn but now I'm unsure. I got this on the 8th May, with wet soil. Then bottom watered her 25th May. Soil still feels wet an inch down from the top. She's in a chunky soil mix with orchid bark in. Could she just be dropping her lowest leaf? She's in the UK, was originally in an East facing window (no direct light but its been much warmer than normal recently, so the sun has felt stronger) I moved her when I noticed the tip of her was damaged, she's now in a South facing window but further away from the window. Any tips! The other leaf unfurled and the other leaves are still looking green! Thanks in advance!

Are these rare? I was doing some research and apparently the variegated alocasia frydek is considered rare?? I just randomly found mine at target, I will say it was $30, whereas the plants at target are usually $15. Regardless I am in love! The variegation is so beautiful! #VariegatedAlocasiaFrydek
