How to fertilize Old Man of the Mountains
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Old Man of the Mountains after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Air Conditioner Concerns #OldManOfTheMountains He's right up against an air conditioner since that's where the window is. I'm wondering if that could be negative for him? I move him away from the AC at night, but I'm not too confident in the potential.

My boyfriend got me an Old Man Of The Mountains cactus for our date today. It was bought from Walmart but the soil is slightly moist. I want to take good care of this plant do I still wait 13 days to water it? #OldManOfTheMountains

Rotting... I've seen other people cut rot off their cacti without many issues - but is this too far gone? One of the rot spots is actually callused over, so I didn't think anything of it when I repotted into 50/50 perlite and cacti/succulent mix, but then I recently saw the fresh rot. Where should I cut this? Banana for scale, obvs 😆 #OldManOfTheAndes #cacti #cactus

For #WhatTheSuccWednesday I'm sharing the ones I got for Houseplant Appreciation Day yesterday!🪴I got a Panda Plant, an an Old Man of the Andes/Mountains (all my sources are confusing the two. It's definitely a oreocereus trollii though), and an Old Lady cactus. Also throwing in my sad Flaming Katy because I threw her in my new cat pot 😸. I love all plants, but it seems succulents and cacti are my favorites 🌵 #SuccerForSucculents #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #Succulents #CactusClique #OldManCactus #OldLadyCactus #OldManOfTheMountains #PandaPlant #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PLANTMAFIA
