Here’s my new planter box I just put together this morning. I put water sealer on my planter boxes so they last longer because they’re outside they are outside in the Florida heat and humidity. The next stage will be one more coat of sealer and then the interior liner. I will have it all done by this evening. A huge Thank You 🙏 to Stephanie @stephonicle for so generously sharing some variegated SOH cuttings with me 💚🤍🩷. It’s been a minute 🤪 since I attempted keeping SOH (which was not very successful btw ☹️). I’m ready now to jump back in, with Steph’s encouragement 👍🙌📣!! So I’m trying 1 on soil and the other on sphagnum moss. Both are in partially opened ziplock bags so humidity is high but there’s airflow. Hi all!! So today I’m out getting my plants ready for an ugly storm that’s coming. Most are on moving plant stands, so I roll them around. Anyway- I went to move my “indoor” plants, and look down at my Birkin- and I thought- no way! I think my Birkin has a flower popping!!! It’s not fully open yet, but the “stem” inside the curled leaf is a brownish maroon color, with a cream colored spathe on top that is out of the sheath. From my research- it says it’s very rare to flower and it takes weeks to bloom. It could be a new leaf, but I’m hoping it’s a flower since it looks so different from all the other leaves that come. Blossoms ready to bust out on the Hoya compacta! When I added the photo to my guys gallery it looks like he has a flower crown 🌸👑🌸 Such a cutie patootie 🥹🤭. Got a question too though…. when a plant needs watering, why do some of the pictures show a sad emoji 😞 and some are sleeping with a lock 🔒 on the pic 😴 🔒? Alocasia love! I’m so excited my Alocasia chantrieri pink variegated picture one is coming in beautifully! Then you can see the baby Yucatán, the metallic blue, and a few others! The next one over is a Thomas Alocasia, tattoo, and a red mamba variegated, Azlanii pink, and Azlanii gold, and a couple of others. My largest alocasia is about 2 ft tall with legs and about 10-inch leaves. #TheWateringHole Good afternoon to all my #TheWateringHole friends! It has been forever since I’ve started a post! I’m off work today recovering from our drive home from North Port, Florida yesterday afternoon. Lots of watering and fertilizing going on today. I knew eventually someone would try to get me out of my comfort zone of the succulent world. My stepdaughter, after killing off succulents (including a prop or two from me!) has gone plant crazy and decided to share some of her prop efforts with me. She gave me a small pot with a combination of neon pothos and marble (?) pothos and a prop from her green prayer plant (hers is gorgeous). Everyone please pray that I can keep the prayer plant alive! We went to a plant sale while we were there. I was a good enabler and she bought 2 Hoyas. In turn, she encouraged me not to leave empty handed. I bought a tiny pot of variegated string of hearts. I’ve got to figure out were to put all my new goodies! Has anyone else stepped out of their plant comfort zone recently either by choice or being gifted?
