I have 8 plants so far and 6 of the eight are thriving and growing splendidly, but two of them are pretty bad… my English Ivy and northern maidenhair fern. My English Ivy got a really bad spider mite infestation that killed most of the plant and honestly I don’t think it’ll make it, and my northern maidenhair fern had root mesh I had to remove that ended up causing quite a bit of root damage and frond loss. Luckily for the maidenhair fern, it’s decline stopped so there is hope for it to bounce back! However my English Ivy is a different story. It’s pretty upsetting because my English Ivy is one of my favorites. I moved it outside for more sun as a last resort and honestly if I see that it’s starting to completely die I may just cut some healthy-ish vines and try to propagate them. It does make me pretty sad though because even though both of these are from external issues out of my full control, it still kinda makes me feel like a bad plant parent. I guess all I can do is learn from the experience and apply this learnt knowledge to current and potential future plants (when I have space for more plants that is 😭🙏) #plantcare #plantdeath #RecoveringPlants 2 7 Comments
