Here is another photograph that I took of Cypress trees along the Withlacoochee River. That may also be an American beauty berry bush that is growing wild at the bottom left of the photo. This is about 6 miles west of The headwaters photo that I posted. Roots growing UP?! Last week I took a couple of stems from my Pink Princess Philo, and put them in water, hoping for new roots. Chamging the water, the new roots caught my eye. I did not know these guys roots- grow UPwards!! When I first saw this plant among the real ones at a local grocery store I thought it was a fake someone left there. Turns out its real which makes it so neat I had never seen one like it. This is Biancé, just like Beyoncé but different lol I grew her from two #MonsteraAureaMamorata #nodes. She is technically two plants in one but I love the fullness so I’m gonna leave them together. She is truly my pride and joy. I absolutely love her. She legit gives me two leaves every 7-10 days! She was my one first #Node2Leaf plants. It’s a beautiful sunny Thursday here ☀️. A bit warm but not beastly hot 🥵 😮‍💨. Waiting for the afternoon breeze off the ocean 🌊 🌬️ to cool things off 🏖️. Tried posting earlier but poof 💨 it disappeared so here’s a quick mini version: my Moonshine philodendron hasn’t grown much all spring/summer. Protected southern window, Superthrive Pro, up-potted to 6” pot May 2024. Any advice? Pics of my encyclia orchid still in treatment/isolation for thrips 😖 . The first treatment (insecticidal soap with spinosad) didn’t go so well as I rubbed too hard evidently and stripped parts of some leaves 🍃 of protective coating. But he seems to be recovering ❤️‍🩹 and has some new growth so 😮‍💨 😌 😅!!! Last 2 pics are SOH cuttings, so sweetly sent by @stephongreg so I can have another go at trying to raise SOH 🩷🤍💚. The sphagnum moss pot is doing well 👍 although it’ll be a job getting them off the moss and into pots 😑. The soil prop pot should be good to go as is🫡👍. Happy Sunday! Thought you all might enjoy some alpine wildflowers that my daughter and I delighted in on our hike in Colorado today! These grow at about 12,000 feet, far above tree line. It absolutely amazes me what grows up there! We saw bell flowers, tons of stone crop, aspen fleabane, paintbrush, and so many others! Hi everyone. It was a little over 1 year ago that I came on here to ask a favor, and I am back tonight asking that same favor. The past 2 days have rained and poured, and the Texas Hill country is once again flooded/ing. My son is the Superintendent at Guadalupe State Park, and acting Super at Pedernales State Park. The flooding at Guadalupe has exceeded the levels of last years flooding, which was 31.4 feet. Many people have been evacuated. I would like to ask that everyone keep these people in their prayers. I know there are some on Greg from surrounding areas, and if you’re in the path of this…please be careful and safe. I’m 2 hours north of my son and we aren’t flooding- just really really soggy. Good, Saturday, morning to all you wonderful plant people. I had a lot to do out of my property today. So I got up at 6:30 AM, which is 15 minutes before sunrise on West Central Florida. It’s much cooler at that time . It is now 11:35 and I’m about finished. While mowing my property I found some pretty cool plants growing. I thought I would share them here. The first one (left) is an air plant, there are many of those growing around here. The second one is a prickly pear. I discovered growing out front. I marked it as I am going as I’m going dig it up and put it in a pot.
