Hello everyone. I hope you’re well. My hobby is Florida landscaping wildlife photography. I think it’s appropriate to occasionally post some of the photos I’ve taken while hiking out the forest and swamps. Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a great day and that you are well. I recently learned that if you save banana skins and put them in a picture of water the water makes great fertilizer. I let the banana skin sit in the water for 24 hours and sprinkle the soil around my seedlings and on my plants. The banana skins put magnesium and potassium in the water. I’m so excited for my “comebacks!” The first two are Variegated Fallopia Multiflora. I love the Fallopia, it literally sparkles ✨ The other two are my sweet comeback alocasias. One of my favorite alocasias is Variegated Alocasia baginda 'Dragon Scale' (Mint/Aurea variant). Lastly is a Stardust Alocasia. ☺️ Does anyone else have some comebacks, or cuttings you are doing? Share your comebacks and let us know how you did it. I think we can learn and improve no matter the skill level. Here’s my new planter box I just put together this morning. I put water sealer on my planter boxes so they last longer because they’re outside they are outside in the Florida heat and humidity. The next stage will be one more coat of sealer and then the interior liner. I will have it all done by this evening. Alocasia love! I’m so excited my Alocasia chantrieri pink variegated picture one is coming in beautifully! Then you can see the baby Yucatán, the metallic blue, and a few others! The next one over is a Thomas Alocasia, tattoo, and a red mamba variegated, Azlanii pink, and Azlanii gold, and a couple of others. My largest alocasia is about 2 ft tall with legs and about 10-inch leaves. I ventured out this morning to inspect the plants before the sun becomes too intense and bright. I’m back inside now, but not before capturing a few photos. I’m so happy! My undulata is actually looking pretty good; this is one of my first ever Hoyas. I’ve heard these ones can be a little more tricky? I just had to share my kitchen plants; I’m so excited about these babies! That and my Prestonia quinquangularis is finally making her beautiful comeback! When she arrived, she had terrible travel shock, and I lost her to the point of a single stem. She’s finally looking better. I’m so excited. My majestic philodendron started opening into new, gorgeous, bigger leaves. I love my pink plants. So don’t be surprised if you see more pinks 🫶🏻🌸🩵🐾🪴 My citruses arrived today! So excited. It’s a Dwarf Buddha Hand Citrus Tree; Rio Red Grapefruit; Sunquat Tree; Marumi Kumquat; Fukushu Kumquat Tree; Eustis Limequat Tree, and then my caladium bulbs. We got our heat-reflective sun tarps up, so I’ve been moving things in and out of the garage all day. So excited to see my greenhouse in a happier place! I’m sure, like so many of us, we are trying to counter all this crazy weather. It’s been so unpredictable; we’ve gone from a couple of days into the 80’s to freezing again! Which isn’t uncommon for Utah weather… but omg my poor plants. 🌱 😂 So we got smart and put a heat-reflecting greenhouse tarp over the roof. I can’t believe how much it lowers the heat! So happy to have done it.
