Here is a plant(s) that has been growing on my property for decades. To me it was, just, another noxious weed that I have been cutting down forever. I was going to cut more of it down today but I stopped, took a photo and identified it. This is American Beauty Berry. it’s hard for me to believe that people actually pay money for these plants when I have been cutting them down for years. On Amazon they run around $32. However I have no intention of a monetizing them. But I may dig one up and stick it in a pot. Good, Saturday, morning to all you wonderful plant people. I had a lot to do out of my property today. So I got up at 6:30 AM, which is 15 minutes before sunrise on West Central Florida. It’s much cooler at that time . It is now 11:35 and I’m about finished. While mowing my property I found some pretty cool plants growing. I thought I would share them here. The first one (left) is an air plant, there are many of those growing around here. The second one is a prickly pear. I discovered growing out front. I marked it as I am going as I’m going dig it up and put it in a pot. Please read. I need everyone’s opinion… Hello everyone. I hope you’re well today I received a Chaste Tree. I ordered it from amazon.com through a company called “PLANT ME GREEN”A Chaste Tree is something I have been wanting for a very long time and it is a fantastic pollinator. I was not home when it was delivered. I saw the notification and rushed back here as soon as possible. When I took it out of the box, the tree was severely damaged by insects and fungus. I just contacted the company and sent them the photos that I posted here. They were closed so I emailed them. I do not believe this was caused during shipment. I believe that it was shipped like that. So much for quality control. What are those black spots? Is this some sort of fungus or scale that was caused by the infestation? Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a great day and you and your plants are growing. I visited the county master gardeners’s nursery this morning. I bought another giant plum ginger and a passion vine. I am going to start building a couple of these tables for my plants. I thought I would share it here. Here’s what they use in their nursery, two by fours and hardware cloth which is quarter inch chicken wire supported by cinder blocks. The dimensions are 8 foot long by 22 inches wide . Good morning everyone. It’s going to be another hot one in West Central Florida today. I got up at 6:30 AM and finished mowing the front of my property. I’m now sitting in a chair outside eating a banana and drinking some coffee. I planted this banana last year and it was doing very well. Then a, very unusual, frost hit Florida in January. It was unusual because we had two weeks in a row of freezing and below freezing weather. In my 48 years of living in Florida, I’ve not seen that much cold weather at one time. I covered the banana bush multiple times with multiple blankets. Despite all that the frost killed it all the way down to the ground level. This is another plant that I thought I had lost. I cut off all the dead stuff mulched it into the dirt around the plant. Now it is doing very well. I haven’t added it to my oasis until today. Thank you for reading this mini blog.
