Here is another beauty berry plant, but much larger than many of the beauty berries that are growing on my property. It has been growing for, at least, four or five years. It is growing along an old fence line that I tore down about a year ago. It had a lot of invasive vines growing in it. I just pulled them out and cut them out with my hedge shears. It is about 4 feet high. After pulling the vines out of it it looks like it’s a series of plants growing together. this plant has bright purple berries that grow in clusters. Hello everyone. As many you know, I have been turning my place into a Haven for butterflies and birds and hopefully soon bees when my Chaste trees and my Porter weeds get established. I know this photo doesn’t have anything to do with plants. I saw this guy and couldn’t resist taking a few photos of him. He has been getting closer and closer to me. Hello everyone. I guess you could call us an update on the American beauty Berry plants that I have growing by the hundreds all over my property. I dug a small one up today to put it in a pot. This plant was only about 4 inches high however it had two main roots expanding about 3 feet. I clipped back the root so it would fit in a pot. I never saw a plant this small with the root system that extensive. It’s hard for me to believe that Lowes is selling these plants for $40. Good morning everyone I hope you and your plants are blooming well. It’s another hot one in Central Florida. I got up at sunrise and finished most of my gardening. I worked more on my butterfly garden, putting in more seeds, black-eyed Susans and purple cone flowers. In addition I planted the plants that I bought at the master gardeners nursery Saturday. 🌻🪻 This is a photo I took a giant swallowtail butterfly getting nectar from a Lantana plant. If you look closely, you can see his “tongue” in the flower. Good morning everyone. I hope you and your plants are growing well.This is a Porter Weed that belongs to a friend. It’s beautiful. I have two, at my house , that I have not yet transplanted. This one is the best one I have seen. The Porter Weed is an excellent pollinator. Its attracts the Gulf Fritillary butterfly. I took the photo on the left, yesterday, with my Canon camera. I was repotting some plants, for her, this morning when I saw a Gulf Fritillary land on the Porter Weed. I took that photo with an iPhone. Hello everyone, I hope you are well. The big reason why I don’t post any photos of my indoor plants is because I don’t have any plants indoors. I am in growing zone 9B. So I post photos of my outdoor plant activities including many photos I have taken while hiking and mountain biking. I have a particular fascination with pollinator plants and cypress trees.
