I can’t begin to express how deeply this plant holds significance for me. It belonged to my foster father, who passed away in September 2025. When we were cleaning out his apartment, I took it because it was in a state of disrepair. My foster father was battling numerous health issues, including the amputation of his right leg above the knee, which caused him immense emotional and physical pain. When I say the plant was in poor condition, I mean it was in a truly dire state. I brought it home and placed it in a cup of water. A few days ago, I noticed that it had developed beautiful new roots, so I transferred it to a 10 inch clay pot. This plant is named Kevin in memory of my foster father, who has passed away. I apologize for sharing this sad story, but I wanted to convey the profound impact this plant has had on my life. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #PlantDads

My #gymnocalycium cactus is blooming!!!!! When I bought him he had the teeniest flower buds, as you can see in his profile photo. That was probably about a month ago. A few days ago they started opening and today they are FULLY open! They smell like dirt and rotting leaves, very pungently. Good morning plant friends, especially ficus moonshine and ficus plant lovers! Just wanted to share my gorgeous Ficus Moonshine BUSH with so much different variegation (in my bedroom under a Sansi 24 Watt Grow Light 💡) 😍 It started out as 2 seperate tiny little 3-4 inch bushes, one of which grew new baby branches and mini leaves. I recently combined them together when they outgrew both their pots to make it bushier. Now in a 7 inch pot — soon to be a floor plant and eventually a very colorful bushy tree — next to my Ficus Tineke Tree/Bush! Yay! I’m so excited to get my Boswellia sacra outside and into the sun. She’s loving it. If you don’t recognize the plant name by the genius, it’s commonly known as Frankincense, the sacred frankincense. Frankincense is an amazing plant for its resin, otherwise known as “tears,” is considered the finest in the world; but for anyone who prefers to use homeopathic remedies, it’s highly recommended. I just had to share my kitchen plants; I’m so excited about these babies! That and my Prestonia quinquangularis is finally making her beautiful comeback! When she arrived, she had terrible travel shock, and I lost her to the point of a single stem. She’s finally looking better. I’m so excited. My majestic philodendron started opening into new, gorgeous, bigger leaves. I love my pink plants. So don’t be surprised if you see more pinks 🫶🏻🌸🩵🐾🪴 My citruses arrived today! So excited. It’s a Dwarf Buddha Hand Citrus Tree; Rio Red Grapefruit; Sunquat Tree; Marumi Kumquat; Fukushu Kumquat Tree; Eustis Limequat Tree, and then my caladium bulbs. Heyyy! I absolutely know I’m going to forget to post in the morning, so I’m getting it in early for #FreshLeafFriday (are those still a thing? I’ve been so out of the loop) 🪴 Without further ado: new leaves (first one open; second one still furled) on my burgundy #Ficus. These are the first new leaves in a LONG time—it did not get enough light in that tiny apartment I just left! Now it has front row seats to the sunrise every morning 🌅 Then, we have my rehabilitated variegated #StringOfPearls, which a friend gave to me in a sad, shriveled little vine with one lonely root. Now look at it go! 😊 Bonus pics to use all 5 spaces (why not?): watered all my growing babies and #Propagation s this morning. I love these cute 1” clear plastic pots! They are perfect for propagating! UPDATE My flowering young desert rose (Thar) has finally started to bloom, and after doing some research, I found that this little one might be an Adenium socotranum; which would explain why it looks so different from the rest of its seedmates. Honestly, I thought it was elongating despite being in full Florida sun 😅 (family photo below). This also means that there is a good chance that I wasn't ripped off and these little guys are in fact different species I just have to wait for another one to flower to be 100% sure. I’ve had a busier day today; it’s been cooler, so I’ve been taking advantage and starting seeds for my family’s different gardens. Hopefully, they all make a decent start 🤞. I’ve had a couple of nights of frost, and all my plants I can’t cover have just bombed in leaves.
