My alocasia black velvet is pushing out a flower! The leaves are still looking green and feeling firm. No leaves have fallen. I’ve had the plant for a month. So I’m assuming the plant is happy and this isn’t a stress response. But the leaves have kind of moved to the sides compared to when I first got it. Should I let it bloom, or should I cut it off just in case? #AlocasiaAddicts #alocasiablackvelvet #Alocasia

An exciting development for Dr. Purkinje 🌱 Named after Jan Evangelista Purkyně, whose eponymous Purkinje fibres form part of the heart’s rapid ventricular conduction system. I chose the name because Alocasia Frydek leaves already look suspiciously anatomical — enormous green surfaces crossed by a striking vascular network #AlocasiaAddicts #Alocasia #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantCorner #ADHDPLANTLOVERS

I couldn’t have designed this if I tried. This alocasia (or colocasia?) was a surprise from the soil when I potted the ficus. It’s maturing so beautifully in the pot. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #AlocasiaAddicts #Alocasia
