How to fertilize Sargent Juniper
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Sargent Juniper after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

The foliage has turned light brown and hard to the touch. Has our Sargent Juniper died? #SargentJuniper

So let’s say I put 100x the amount fertilizer needed should I replace the soil so my bonsai doesn’t get sick or anything, it’s becoming brittle. #SargentJuniper

This pot is outside on my porch, I put it in another dish and insulted with soil to keep the clay pot from freezing the roots. Should I still be watering once a week in the colder months? #SargentJuniper

Juniper Bonsai My juniper bonsai has been struggling for a while. Needles turning brown which have been mostly removed now. Also noticed the green needles have turned more pale. I water when I feel the soil is dry about a half inch to inch down so about every 3 days. SE facing window. Summer months I had AC on and had bonsai inside, windows closed. It did develop white web looking stuff on it which I was able to get rid of with neem oil. Now it’s cooled down, AC off, windows always open. Seems to be responding better. I just don’t know how often I should be watering given these conditions. This app says once every 10 days which seems too long given the top soil dries in 3ish. Any advice is appreciated! #Bonsai #SargentJuniper

FOR THE EXPERIENCED! I currently have 3 Juniper Bonsai’s and have unfortunately killed quite a number of them… but with experience I’ve found the best way to keep this one. Keep by a window, needs at least 5 hours of direct sunlight and is currently near a 6000K grow light but NOT directly under. Water when the soil begins to dry, every 2-3 days, I’ve found Misting the tops hurts it more, just water the soil. Do not Transplant until absolutely necessary. They like small pots. Good luck if it’s your first time!
