Alright, I completely caved and finally got two little cuties that Iโ€™m really hoping to just as healthy as the photos! @Jho was kind enough to show me this seller a while back, and I decided alright letโ€™s do it! First is a variegated billietiae, and second is a caramel marble fire tiger ๐Ÿ… Then Iโ€™m so excited to find a variegated piper nigrum! (Aka a black peppercorn plant!) I have a regular peppercorn vine that is climbing with my vanilla, so Iโ€™m excited to add this to my other variegated vanilla and now variegated peppercorn! Yay! The pepper.. is though is from a different seller Iโ€™ve used a few times and familiar with her plants, she grows amazing plants. ๐Ÿฅฐ #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #TheThread #TheWateringHole #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #PlantTherapy #GrowLights #OrchidLovers #PetsAndPlants #BeforeAndAfter #PlantCorner #PlantShelfie #RarePlants #PlantID #Philodendron #PhiloFlock
Girl nuh uh!! You got a variegated Billie??? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Iโ€™ll be following with interest!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ
@DreamMachine ha ha thanks! They have some great deals. I couldnโ€™t pass them up when I saw it ha ha. One day Iโ€™ll master this willpower thing; till then itโ€™s plants, plants, plants ha ha. Iโ€™m excited to see how these Billieโ€™s grow! Iโ€™ve never had one before so Iโ€™m very excited. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿคช
Then these were calling my name. No more plants for a while. I gotta cut down to a plant a month, and focus on making some cuttings and get ready to clean out the greenhouse. Greg wonโ€™t let me add them, so this is the rest! Hoya Nabawanensis Variegated, Hoya AH027 (Elephant)
Sunstressed Elephant (Photo), Hoya Versteegil, Hoya Lacunosa 'Black Aurora', Hoya Clemensiorum 'Black'
@DreamMachine, can you tell me if there is another name for the elephant? I keep trying to add it, and it wouldnโ€™t work. So Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s an app bug, but I thought Iโ€™d ask you since you know more about Hoya. Is there another name for the elephant?
Peppercorn and vanilla? Are they indoors or are you in a tropical climate? Sounds magical!
Yesssss, congrats!!! I saw the Fire Tiger disappear and was hoping you got it. Gotta get it a Billie buddy too while youโ€™re buying! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Those prices are hard to resist. Hereโ€™s my Venom tissue culture I got from the same place. I LOVE that Lacunosa black aurorora too!! I just found out about the BA literally this week, but have had my eye out for a Lacunosa Laos for a long time. The SAME seller had a Lacunosa Laos Sp and I slept on it, it disappeared, and Iโ€™ve had regret ever since. So the lesson is, if you master willpower, you may end up with regret. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Enjoy the new babies! ๐ŸŒฑ ๐ŸŒฟ
Ohhh how fun!! Youโ€™re living our dreams! ๐Ÿ˜ @jho! Iโ€™ve been thinking about you!! Look at this ridiculous Jacklyn!
@MamaLinne Hey Deb!! Dang, look at her go!! ๐Ÿ˜ and a new leaf popping up, she is happy!! Is that that the OG??
@Jho it is! Sheโ€™s tried to kick the bucket 3 times, but this is the most growth Iโ€™ve gotten so far! Trying to decide when to change transitioning to a bigger pot and removing from humidity cabinet. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
@Idplantthat I agree with @MamaLinne that you are living our dreams! ๐Ÿ˜ The only plant I think Iโ€™ve even heard of is the Billietiae! ๐Ÿ˜‚
@Idplantthat omg the variegated nabawenensis and clemensiorum have been at the very top of wishlist this year ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ you lucky duck!! H AH027 is the most specific you could be for that hoya, so Greg doesnโ€™t have it listed!
@Idplantthat I feel you when you go to buy fertilizer or a new pot or something and end up bringing home 8 plants with you too! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒฑโค๏ธ
If you donโ€™t mind, whatโ€™s the name of the seller? I have bad luck with them.

That happened within like a couple days and it came with the leaves bent like that. And bamboo has always been one of the easiest to keep alive. First is how it came.
@MamaLinne geez, youโ€™ve had to tame that thing like a wild mustang. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I hope she continues to behave this go around! She looks great. @SolidGold hey Aeriel, the seller is Plant The Studio on palmstreet or they have a website too but the PS shop seems to stay more updated. Theyโ€™re local to me so Iโ€™ve always stopped by and done pickups and could see their setup - pretty legit! They specialize in rare tissue cultures but it looks like they are starting to grow some into plantlets before sale too. I snagged my venom for I think $25 and an orange princess plantlet for $18 as example. Also got pink black velvet TC and ghost Polly plantlet from them - all pretty healthy.
@Jho Thank you! That seems pretty decent especially for rare cultures. I wanted some of those too! Healthy is one of my top priorities unless Iโ€™m trying to save a store plant!
@Jho ha ha ha I love that motto! If you master willpower, youโ€™ll live with regret. Ha ha ๐Ÿคฃ I appreciate you indulging my lack of self-control. ๐Ÿคฃ I kinda feel like I canโ€™t travel or go anywhere anymore, and I canโ€™t really eat the foods I love anymore (my health requires me to go gluten and dairy-free. I miss them so much), and if I have to have strength for that, Iโ€™m not holding myself back on things I can do. ๐Ÿ˜‰โ˜บ๏ธ SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! Is that the tissue you got in the winter? ๐Ÿฅถ I remember you saying during the winter you were trying your hand at tissue cultures! But Holy cow! Itโ€™s a monster! Itโ€™s absolutely gorgeous. How big is that leaf? It looks pretty large?? ๐Ÿคฏ
@captainstardust hi Emily, ๐Ÿ‘‹ I actually live in a desert ๐Ÿœ๏ธ in Utah, but I have a serious love of tropical plants. My last trip I ever went on was to Costa Rica. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ท We stayed in the rainforest and the beach, and between the two, Iโ€™d take the rainforest any day of the week! It was incredible and only fueled my love of the tropical, but when I went, we had this impression guide, and my brother speaks 7 languages, so I always have a translator ๐Ÿ˜†, but the guide was saying how many microclimates weโ€™d be driving through, and you could literally see the difference between all the plants. It was incredible and inspiring, so I learned how to play with creating microclimates in your own areas. So I grow differently depending on what groups I have and where. ๐Ÿ˜‰โ˜บ๏ธ
@MamaLinne oh my gosh, Deb! Sheโ€™s so adorable. I love Jacklynโ€™s. I know this is for Josh, but I just had to say itโ€™s adorable and itโ€™s so dang cute! ๐Ÿฅฐ Itโ€™s going to get massive, so excited to see its progress.
@debbiedo ha ha ha between you and Greg! I hardly even know half of what I grow. I just know I water them, and they stay alive. ๐Ÿคฃ Anything beyond that, itโ€™s all Greek to me. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ
@DreamMachine no, it absolutely does not, and it doesnโ€™t like me trying to add it. ๐Ÿคฃ As soon as they get bigger since they are wishlisters for you, Iโ€™ll send you some cuttings when they get bigger; you know me, it might take a minute, but Iโ€™ll get them to you. ๐Ÿคช
@Idplantthat well since I highjacked your post, Iโ€™m happy to have you join in the conversation! ๐Ÿ˜‚โค๏ธ
@SolidGold I donโ€™t mind at all, and I know Julia wouldnโ€™t mind more people shopping at her store. ๐Ÿคฃ Sheโ€™s an absolute gem and gives great cuttings generally rooted. Not only does she send them in a medium, but she actually sends them with plant clips and thick plastic containers so you can just put them straight onto the shelf. Itโ€™s amazing ๐Ÿคฉ and I absolutely think you are right. I canโ€™t go to a nursery without having an adult. I absolutely will not adult at a nursery, and all self-control is left in the car. ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿฉต https://thehoyatrove.com
@MamaLinne please highjack away! The more conversations, the better. I enjoy talking to people, especially about plants or animals ๐Ÿ˜‚
@Idplantthat me too!
@Jho she has given me like 800 new gray hairs, thatโ€™s for sure! I finally decided I didnโ€™t care anymore, and now sheโ€™s decided to take off. So Iโ€™ve begun calling her the cat of the Alocasia world.
@Idplantthat haha hey, I endorse this plan!! Let the lack of willpower fly for the plants!! They may take the gluten and dairy but NOT the ๐ŸŒฟ, or the ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ˜œ ๐Ÿ™ƒ Yep, thatโ€™s the one!! It surprised me too, because I had to go into Palmstreet earlier to remind myself what all I had bought from them. I bought the tissue culture on Dec 15th so about 6.5 months growth from the baggy? Not sure about the sizeโ€ฆ Iโ€™m traveling for work so itโ€™s not near me. Hereโ€™s a diff angle from this am with hand for reference and a peek at the new leaf coming up. ๐Ÿฅณ
@MamaLinne hahaha! She just wanted to know exaaaaaaactly how much you cared. ๐Ÿฅฐ Apparently she was happy with the answer!
@jho @Idplantthat oh I just love that! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I canโ€™t remember ever regretting a purchase, but there have definitely been several times that I regretted a NON purchase ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿซ

Also Rachel, Iโ€™m going to make a proper post about this soon, but Iโ€™m so excited to tell you I have my first pedunkle ๐Ÿ™Œ On my sweet little Bella, and she has three ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿฅณ I havenโ€™t even potted her up properly yet, sheโ€™s still in a cup of perlite! and I think, didnโ€™t you just get a Bella? Possibly a variegated version? They are prolific bloomers!! ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒบโ™ฅ๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ™Œ
@Jho I love it, thatโ€™s incredible for only being 6.5 months old from a tissue culture. Thatโ€™s seriously some incredible growth. @DreamMachine I do believe you told me about the Bella, but I donโ€™t remember for sure. Those are so cute! So are the star-shaped ones, or are they a little different? I do thoroughly love๐Ÿฅฐ seeing your posts. You and Josh are both great growers, Iโ€™m always impressed by you guys. โ˜บ๏ธ
@Idplantthat aww, thanks sweetie pie, and so are YOU!! When you say star shaped ones, are you talking about a flower or a hoya leaf shape?
@DreamMachine you know, I didnโ€™t know they came in star-shaped leaves. ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ I do not know Hoyas yet. Iโ€™m still reading and learning about these little cuties, and there is no storage of varieties, holy moly! ๐Ÿคฏ but yes, I did mean star-shaped flowers ๐Ÿ˜‰
@Idplantthat bahaha, you know, I asked that, but I donโ€™t think there are any star shaped leaves ๐Ÿค” ๐Ÿ˜‚

Were you thinking of these flowers? The Hoya multiflora? Or were you thinking of those gigantic alien star flowered hoyas that we were talking about earlier? When we saw those pictures of the giant blooms in someoneโ€™s hand?
Got my arrowhead at a plant swap!
Been one of my favs ever since! I love the plants with a touch of pink, like the two you got!
@DreamMachine okay, those ones are seriously monsters! I think itโ€™s wild the two different blooms on what appears to be the same plant?? Iโ€™m familiar with the shooting star multiflora, itโ€™s actually one of the very first Hoyas I ever got. Still hasnโ€™t bloomed but it was a plug, so Iโ€™m thinking itโ€™s gonna take a lot longer.. and well we know I just recently got into the Hoya game. But I donโ€™t start small when I decide to go for something. ๐Ÿคฃ if itโ€™s overwhelming, intense, slightly overbearing and obnoxious.. hmm hold on Iโ€™ll be there! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ
@Ary0905 Oooh! Is that a Batik Syngonium? ๐Ÿฅฐ
@Idplantthat no clue!! Iโ€™m a newb and this is how the app identified the gorgeous girl ๐Ÿค
@Ary0905 it looks like a batik, but it definitely sounds like the app knows more than I would. Ha ha, regardless, sheโ€™s striking and beautiful! ๐Ÿ˜ป Welcome to the Greg community! Youโ€™ll enjoy it here. ๐Ÿ˜‰โ˜บ๏ธ
@Idplantthat thank you for the welcome ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค btw, I looked up what โ€œbatikโ€ is, I did not realize how many different syngoniums exist!! https://gardenerspath.com/plants/houseplants/best-arrowhead-varieties/
@Ary0905 holy moly! I didnโ€™t realize how many just allusions there are! Itโ€™s so crazy because half kinda look the same but settle on slight differences. One of my favorites though is the Orm Nak. I have one, and sheโ€™s one of my all-time favorites. ๐Ÿคฃ Iโ€™ve got quite a few and absolutely love them. If you ever want to expand your collection, let me know and as long as youโ€™re in the USA ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ, I can gift you some cuttings. โ˜บ๏ธ
@debbiedo - was going to tell you, I have some cuttings that have rooted beautifully and are just about ready in a couple of weeks to get shipped out. I have a Hoya friend Iโ€™m building a box for, so Iโ€™ll send yours out at the same time. Iโ€™ll email you for the address next week. Just so you know โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‰ Iโ€™ll throw in a couple of extra things if you want as well! If I have anything you like or have wanted, please let me know, and if I have cuttings or an extra, Iโ€™d be happy to share! Otherwise, here is the Vicks. Mind you, they just have a cuttings pot I threw them in, so itโ€™s not gonna look great by any means ๐Ÿคฃ
@Idplantthat They really do only have slight differences for the most part ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
I looked that up (bc of coooourse they didnโ€™t picture it in the link lol)
GORGEOUS to say the least!!
I absolutely love pink or pink tinted plants!!!
Thank you!! That is so so sweet of you! I am located in the US! Near Raleigh, NC ๐Ÿž๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

By the way, I checked out your page, IMPRESSIVE collection to say the least!!!!!!๐ŸŒฟ
@Idplantthat OMG those babies are BEAUTIFUL! ๐Ÿฅน

Iโ€™m not sure Iโ€™ve fully looked through your oasis before ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I now feel like a TOTAL slacker for sometimes thinking that 100 is too much to manage ๐Ÿ˜‚

I donโ€™t think I saw one in your collection, but if you by chance have a pup from a Gold Dust Dracaena, Iโ€™d love that to give to a friend.

Thank you SO much for sharing so generously, you are awesome ๐Ÿคฉ ๐Ÿฅนโค๏ธ
@Ary0905 thanks! I do have a slight obsession problem (by slight I mean like close to being a hoarder of plants; is that really possible though? Isnโ€™t a hoarder just a nursery ha ha ๐Ÿคฃ) Iโ€™d be happy to share and give you a few cuties! Feel free to email me and weโ€™ll chat about it. If I donโ€™t respond to your email then let me know; sometimes I donโ€™t get it. ๐Ÿคฃ redrach07@gmail.com
@debbiedo I can see; for sure! I know I have an extra younger Milky Way cast iron plant; itโ€™s not a vining but rather a clumping growth habit but looks very similar and quite easy to care for if they would like that one, if I donโ€™t have a dracaena. Let me check it out tomorrow and get back to you. Itโ€™s funny we chat so much, but I realize most of us probably donโ€™t know what the other person grows other than our post. ๐Ÿ˜‚ 100 plants is still a lot of plants, donโ€™t count yourself short. ๐Ÿฅฐ
@Idplantthat You are SO SO sweet! Iโ€™d actually love your opinion on the plant Iโ€™m looking for. My friend sent me this picture last week. Her dad died unexpectedly and she saw this plant at the funeral home. She said we should try to find one when she gets home and Iโ€™m trying to find one to give her. Do you agree that itโ€™s a Gold Dust Dracaena?
