About Red Piranha
The Venus Flytrap is a carnivorous plant native to North and South Carolina. They typically grow in swampy regions which are low in nitrogen (and essential nutrient for plant growth) and evolved carnivory as a clever solution. Their traps are triggered by small hairs and the closing of their traps is one of the fastest momevents among all plants! Their traps often die off after trapping and digesting prey, so be careful not to trigger them ā leave those traps for the bugs š!

To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Red Piranha after it doubles in size or once a yearāwhichever comes first.

What size pot should I keep my venus fly trap in? Back again with more questions, I've had this guy for about a week, been able to feed and water him with no issues, and hes even growing a few new sprouts! My bigger concern is about the pot hes in currently, I've been noticing roots growing through the drainage holes in the pot so is that a sign that I should move him somewhere bigger? If so, what kind of soil and what size pot should I get? #venusflytrap

Venus fly trap is dying off. Just put a pic of it on my list. Not leaving any access to feed it.

Just bought this guy today, I know they are sensitive to minerals and I've heard distilled water is best for watering them, is this true? If not what are some other options #VenusFlyTrap

This is my first Venus fly trap. His name is Vernon as you can see heās a baby. I had to repot him because I put him in the wrong soil the first time so Iām hoping that I didnāt mess him up and that he continues to grow. But I have a question. Itās one big leaf that wants to continue to just lay over on top of the other ones how do I get him to stand up so I put a piece of wood to make him stand up or do I just leave them laying on the other ones because itās two of my babies that canāt eat because heās laying on top of them.?

Wilting fly trap I have a young fly trap plant that I have near a humidifier. It puts out a cool visible vapor. Is the hard water I'm using in the humidifier be causing it to wilt? I've already killed a perfectly healthy fly trap plant just winging it. This time I'm using rain or distilled water and keeping the humidity high. Any advice is appreciated.

Venus fly traps like to stay moist but not water logged. They love the bright light, south facing is best but mine is doing fine in my east facing window. Not allowing them to dry out is best as they prefer soil that is slight moist. These plants are incredible and look amazing

I love my carnivorous plants, but this one is one of my neediest plants. It needs constant moisture and constant water.
It also needs to eat. But if whatever you feed it doesnāt fit in itās little mouths, it will cause the head to die. Make sure when they are small you only give them house flys and make sure the mouth is closed completely around it. š
