Interesting and unique however the amount and frequency this app is telling me to water it seems a little much as it looks to be flooding it

Do research and make sure you know what it needs before you get one. Only water with distilled water.

My house always get fruit flies and they’re SUPER annoying!!! I’ve been looking at a Venus fly trap for a while but always too scared to get one just in case it dies or doesn’t help.

But Venus is simply beautiful. I love her colors and she’s caught a lot of suitors so far. It’s kinda entertaining is a messed up way of seeing those little bastards get caught and simply ‘disappear’.

I love my venus fly traps! So far they are thriving, but I have to feed them bc they don’t catch the gnats that buzz around indoors. And the houseflies are ignoring them, as well as being too big anyways.

So I haven’t figured out feeding yet.

I could take them outside for a few days at a time every couple months or so, but I’m nervous about bringing aphids/mites/scale back indoors with them.
They will go outside for dormancy, but what to do until then? Feeding them by hand has proven tricky bc the traps are so close together and so small still.

Maybe they need to be permanently on the outside sill of my window instead of the inside sill...
Still some figuring out to do!

Mine is showing new growth and it’s marvelous! It’s on a windowsill getting bright light and being bottom watered.

On the bright-side, no fungus gnat infestation this year (yet). But that also means no food for Jaws 🥲

you can never let the soil dry out and you must use distilled water to water it :)

I’ve had my Venus fly trap for a week now and here’s what I think so far. Venus plants feel high maintenance. They need 12+ hours of sunlight when you first get them. Tbh I’m a little nervous about feeding my plant Vinnie a bug but I’m sure it will be fine. I love my plant Vinnie and I’m so excited to see him grow!!!
