How to fertilize Ficus caballina
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Ficus caballina after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Any tips for leaves rotting around the stem? I imagine it’s too much water, maybe the pot being too large? It’s growing new leaves pretty consistently, but older ones keep falling! #FiddleLeafFig

Brown spots and falling leaves with my fiddle leaf fig Any help identifying the cause would be greatly appreciated! The plant was shipped to me about 3 weeks ago and looked healthy. The plant was covered in a powdery blue substance which I wiped off with a wet rag (fertilizer?). It’s in front of a south facing window and receiving pretty good light. I didn’t do much with it other than water it once within the first week but the brown spots started about then. I started running a humidifier, repotted it, and am following 1 cup of water per foot of tree once a week. Do these look like root rot, low humidity, not enough water, low nutrients, or sunburn? I see no sign of pests. Thank you!!!

So I went from this to this in about a month or two I’m a first time plant mom so I wasn’t really sure on how to take care of it or from what I researched how dramatic Fiddleleaf plant is, but I’ve researched all over and over and I’ve tried to get it to stay alive and I’m not sure how to really honestly go about it cause someone please help me give me some tips on what I can do to possibly save this plant if able to at this time FYI, I mistakenly stripped a piece of the stem down as pictured in the photo. It did not just happen like that on purpose. #Fiddle leaf Fig
