How to fertilize Forest Redgum

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Forest Redgum after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

My baby eucalyptus is doing great!

What did i do wrong ? I’ve had my eucalyptus for about 2/3weeks now and i came home after a weekend away and it was completely crispy, i cut away all the crispy leaves and now it’s just a sad empty stem of a plant. I love them and it’s my first time owning one and I don’t know what I could’ve done different. #Eucalpytus #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantTherapy

My cider gum has crispy leaves 😭 Hey everyone, I got this Cider gum less than 2 weeks ago. I read it likes direct sunlight so I put it in a spot where it gets at least a full hour of it. After a week, I noticed the end of the stems were droopy. I checked the soil and it was dry so I watered it. The soil is kinda compact but I didn't want to repot it right away. It didn't get better and yesterday, I touched its leaves and noticed they are super crispy. A few are still soft but most of them are crispy. Is it too much light? Not enough water? Something else? I checked the roots and it's not root bound. Thank you for your help! #help #cidergum

Looks like it is dying, how can I revive? #SilverDollarTree

Dropping leaves Any idea why this guy might be dropping so many leaves? It was new/root bound so I carefully repotted it. Then it started dropping leaves. #eucalyptus.

I'm slightly embarrassed at the reaction and completely overwhelming joy I had when harvesting my first ever eucalyptus 🤣 PLEASE see said tiny eucalyptus tree. I only cut this because it was a random shoot off the bottom, but CRAZY was excited for the first and a little back porch planty magic since I finally have it blocked off from the 200 lb dogs 🤣🫠 life is a mess by my plants are thriving #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #planttherapy #mooreplants

The leaves feel brittle and faded but not falling #SilverDollarTree

What happened? Bought this 3 weeks ago. I repotted using the soil it came in 1 week ago. Three days after that it started getting crunchy and dry fast! I watered some even though the meter said it was fine. #SilverDollarTree
Forest Redgum prefers for the soil to dry out between waterings and should be watered regularly. Use our water calculator to personalize watering recommendations to your environment or download Greg for more advanced recommendations for all of your plants.
☀️ Sunlight Needs
Forest Redgum requires abundant, bright and direct light. Place it less than one foot from a window to ensure it receives enough light to survive 💪. Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement in your home 🏡.
🐶 🐈 👶 Toxicity
Greg does not have confirmed data on this plant’s toxicity. If you, a family member, or a pet consumes plant material of unknown toxicity, it’s always best to consult a medical professional.
If you or someone else ingested this plant, call Poison Control at US (800) 222-1222. If a pet consumed this plant, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA at US (888) 426-4435.
💨 Humidity
Forest Redgum doesn’t require additional humidity. Plants absorb most water through their root system rather than their leaves, so the best way to provide humidity for your plants is through watering the soil.
🪴 Soil
Forest Redgum does best in well-draining soil. A good soil will contain lots of organic matter such as coco coir as well as perlite or vermiculite to help with drainage. Adding a handful of perlite to regular store-bought potting soil should do the trick!
💩 Fertilizer
Forest Redgum is a fast growing plant and may deplete the nutrients in its soil over time. Replenish them with a gentle organic fertilizer or compost every 1-2 months depending on your location and season. Fertilize more often during the growing season and in warmer and brighter climates.
🌎 Native Region
Forest Redgum is native to Australia.
🧐 Troubleshooting
When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.
Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.
Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.
Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.
