About Global Green Pothos
Feng shui experts say placing pothos in sharp corners or angles in your home can reduce anxiety and stress. š A NASA/ALCA study on the use of common plants for indoor air purification also labeled themāalong with Philodendron and spider plantsāas the most effective in removing formaldehyde from the air. šØ The genus name Epipremnum comes from the Greek roots meaning 'upon' and 'stump', since these plants are expert tree climbers! All parts of them are toxic, so be sure to keep them away from furry friends and small children.

How to fertilize Global Green Pothos

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil itās likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Global Green Pothos after it doubles in size or once a yearāwhichever comes first.

Trying a new #PropagationStation for my #GlobalGreenPothos and #MarbleQueenPothos. They both had long leafy arms I want to root so I can plant them back in horizontally for a fuller plant. Fingers crossed! #HappyPlants #NewGrowth

Is this scale on my pothos? There are some tiny spots appearing on some of the leaves of my pothos. Centers are brown with a slight yellowing halo around them. I am wondering if this is what scale looks like on a pothos? But when I inspect the stems and the main veins that divide the leaves, I am not seeing any raised bumps, like I have in the past on plants that I know have had scale. Maybe they just don't like the stems for some reason? #GlobalGreenPothos
-
Global green turning white Strange new all white growth on my otherwise healthy #globalgreenpothos. It's a single rooted vine prop and this vine is seemingly coming out as a second vine from the main stem. The original vine seems unaffected. I know all white leaves won't last long but should I cut it in hopes of it growing back with more green? There is a second completely white leaf now starting from that second vine as well.

Droopy Pothos )-: Hey everyone! I accidentally let the soil dry out on my pothos. I woke up this morning and it was super droopy. It just got a big drink of water, but does anyone know if itās leaves will perk up again? #pothos

What is happening here? My Global Green Pothos has one entire stem that looks like a heart leaf philo. Do you think they put 2 different plants together, or am I mistaken about the ID. She is still so pretty. I don't think I would separate them. #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #philodendron #pothospack #jodisplace

Brown spots on rescued Global Green pothos Update: Forgot to add the photos, please see comments. Hello there! This is my last Loweās rescue of the day š itās labeled a Global Green pothos. It has some yellowing, as well as some brown spots on the leaves. I plan to repot it in a few day and treat with neem oil. I donāt see any evidence of pests or anything. Is there anything else I should do to help her bounce back? #PothosPack #PlantsMakePeopleHappy

I need to thank yāall. Life is not good right now but Iām thankful I have this community. I would feel so lonely if I didnāt have the #Greggers by my side š„² While life is slowly destroying itself, let me show you a good part of my life that has been overlooked by my brain because of mental illness. It sucks being so negative sometimes, but I need to remind myself that not EVERYTHING is bad in my life. I have plants and despite everything going on, I somehow manage to keep plants alive! And that is important. šø Cloud Boy #philodendrongoldenmelinonii) is looking fabulous today. Heās gotten HUGE since I received him in the mail from #plantfairy @ManyLime šæš«¶š½ Caribbean Dreams #MarbleQueenPothos) is one of #GregGangās favorites due to the intricate and detailed variegation on each leaf. Itās picture-perfect āØš± Sour Cream & Onion #PothosNJoy & #GlobalGreenPothos) is growing TOO FAST! Ever since I created my own #monsterpothos/ #frankenpothos, all of them have taken off in growth! I may need a bigger pot when it comes around to repot next spring š«£ My small #PhilodendronMicans is pushing out TONS of new growth and the leaves are perfect š„¹ loving the colors right now š Lilo #MiniMonstera) pushed out a new leaf! Sheās been having gnats issues as compared to my other plants, unsure why. Her soil is relatively dry between waterings, but the sticky traps definitely help contain the gnats š¤š½ Couldnāt wait till tomorrow to post! Iāve been so busy so unsure if Iāll be able to make it š„² Thanks for reading this if you did. You can do it! šæāØš§ Hey #GregGang! šš½ Some #MondayMotivation for yāall today. Starting small and growing big is possible! I was showing my boyfriend how HUGE Sour Cream & Onion (my #njoypothos & #GlobalGreenPothos #FrankenPothos) has gotten and I wanted to come here and say that I know there are many out there struggling to start your plant collection but by reaching out, having patience and LOTS of experimenting, YOU TOO can start your own jungle of gorgeous plants! š¤©šæāØ I didnāt (and still donāt) have much. I started with a few cuttings that I got for free from a local FB group #PlantingOnABudget š). I asked if anyone had any #Pothos cuttings for cheap that they were willing to sell and a lovely lady reached out to me saying I could have āa few cuttingsā for free. Little did I know, I would have an ABUNDANCE of cuttings that now makes most of my Oasis! šæāØ By having a little hope, patience, the help of a community and the start of #ScienceWithGreg, I now have my own plant collection. If I can do it, you most definitely can!! Donāt be afraid to ask and reach out! š Sour Cream & Onion only started as cuttings. You can even see the main leaves that were propagated and then potted! Look at him now! Heās a pot full, I tell ya! šø Pictures 1 & 2 are him Today. Heās gorgeous and HUGE!!! 𤩠Pictures 3 & 4 are what Sour Cream and Onion were: a couple of cuttings (a month and a half ago). #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #PothosPack #CentralTexasGang #PlantTherapy #BeforeAndAfter #kscapedream
Global Green Pothos is generally considered an easy-to-care-for plant and makes a great choice for beginners!
š¦ Water Needs
Global Green Pothos prefers for the soil to dry out between waterings and should be watered regularly. Use our water calculator to personalize watering recommendations to your environment or download Greg for more advanced recommendations for all of your plants.
āļø Sunlight Needs
Global Green Pothos can tolerate being far from a window and light source. Place it less than 6 feet from a south-facing window to ensure it receives enough light to survive šŖ. Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement in your home š”.
š¶ š š¶ Toxicity
Greg does not have confirmed data on this plantās toxicity. If you, a family member, or a pet consumes plant material of unknown toxicity, itās always best to consult a medical professional.
If you or someone else ingested this plant, call Poison Control at US (800) 222-1222. If a pet consumed this plant, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA atĀ US (888) 426-4435.
šØ Humidity
Global Green Pothos doesnāt require additional humidity. Plants absorb most water through their root system rather than their leaves, so the best way to provide humidity for your plants is through watering the soil.
šŖ“ Soil
Global Green Pothos does best in well-draining soil. A good soil will contain lots of organic matter such as coco coir as well as perlite or vermiculite to help with drainage. Adding a handful of perlite to regular store-bought potting soil should do the trick!
š© Fertilizer
Global Green Pothos should be repotted after it doubles in size or once a year, whichever comes first. Fresh potting soil has all the nutrients your plant needs, so as long as itās refreshed yearly, you shouldnāt need to use fertilizer. Remember, plants get their energy from sunlight, not fertilizer!
āļø Dormancy
Itās common for Global Green Pothos to go dormant in the wintertime and you may notice their growth slow down. Waterings should be spaced out more during this time.
š Native Region
Global Green Pothos is native to tropical China through Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.
ā¬ļø ā¬ļø Growth Pattern
Global Green Pothos has long, trailing foliage which makes them a great addition to a hanging planter. The newest growth will emerge from the tip of the stems.
š¦ļø Growing Outdoors
USDA Hardiness Zone
Global Green Pothos can be grown outdoors in USDA Hardiness Zones 10-12. Find your local hardiness zone here.
š± Propagation
Global Green Pothos can be propagated by the stem method. To propagate:
- Make a cut just above the node. The node is the break in the stem where the leaf emerges.
- To get the cutting to root, you can either:
- Place the cutting in water until roots emerge and are ~2ā long and then transplant into well-draining soil, or
- Place the cutting directly into well-draining soil and water when dry.
š§ Troubleshooting
When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.
Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.
Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.
Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.
