How to fertilize Curly Locks Orchid Cactus
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Curly Locks Orchid Cactus after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Okay, so orchid cactus rescue update: - It was completely overwatered and had gnats when I first brought it home. It has been on its own, and I let it dry out & have been doing regular neem oil treatments. - Today I felt comfortable with its adjustment and moisture level (pretty dry), so I took a look at what was going on “under the hood,” so to speak. Completely root bound and slides out of the pot like a hard puck. - I am really thinking repotting shouldn’t wait, so I am planning on doing next Thursday when I return from a road trip my partner and I have planned because I am worried about transplanting it and not being able to keep an eye on it. My questions are these: is it silly to worry about doing it before I leave since there is not a ton I can do in that few days post re-pot except wait and see anyway? This is my first orchid cactus, so does anyone have any soil recommendations or re-pot recommendations? I am terrified of breaking its curly long arms! 😖 #OrchidCactus #SucculentSquad #CurlyLocksOrchidCactus #WhatTheSucc #repotting #help #CactusCoven

Help identifying! I found this plant at a plant pop-up, and I was pretty positive that it is a curly locks orchid cactus. It is in kind of rough shape, the staff knew nothing about it, and there was no price so I got it for a steal. But I am not sure that I am right about it, so I would love some input so I can take the best care of this bby!

My Epiphyllum Guatemalense Montrosa #CurlyLocks is starting to bloom! I’m so excited. There is one noticeably big bloom that sprouted a week ago but I wasn’t sure if it was a bloom or not or what was happening. There are also two more little ones but they are still very small. I’ve only had this plant less than two months and I’ve never had any #Epiphyllum plant long enough to see it bloom. In the first picture you can see the big bloom occurring and the stem below it has a tiny bloom starting. In my second pic there is another tiny bloom beginning.

I finally had a chance to pot some of my new babies from last week 🤗 I did a little terracotta/white/green motif, quite by accident. I already had the #ZzPlant on the coffee table, in her terracotta pot. And I put my new #TeardropPeperomia in a pretty swirly TC pot with an adorable bird that came with my #SpiderPlant (not pictured), because it matched the pot *perfectly* and breaks up some of the green; and my #CurlyLocksOrchidCactus in a TC pot; and my #PeperomiaHope in a matching pot with a darling little bee accessory. My #PhilodendronBrasil got a white ceramic pot and a butterfly accent, and was placed next to my #EmeraldRipplePeperomia. They all ended up on the coffee table together because, quite simply, it’s the last space I had that gets good light from the big southern window! 😂 And they all enjoy that medium-to-bright indirect light ☀️🌿 Anyway, I think the result is eye-catching if I do say so! 😇 More photos in the comments because if there’s one thing I always do, it’s paint a complete picture!🪴🐝🌵🦋💚 (Excuse the dust on the coffee table; anyone with a glass top knows they attract it!😆) #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #SucculentLove #PlantTherapy #SucculentSquad #Succulents #CactusClique #PhiloFlock #Philodendron #Peperomia #PLANTMAFIA

Mealybugs... I brought a few new plants home today. They were 10 dollars each, and I was in love. However, these two had little white fuzziness in certain areas. I sprayed them with need oil and soapy water, then I washed them and got the fluffy stuff off, and then I used isopropyl alcohol to try and solve the problem. Now what should I do? I'm keeping them away from my other plants for now, but how will I know if the problem is solved or not?? Also, I know the one is a curly locks orchid cactus, and she is beautiful. The other one had a tag saying it was monstera adansonii, but it really looks like a baltic blue pothos. What do we think? #curlylocksorchidcactus #balticbluepothos #pothos #monsteraadonsonii
