Look who is about to bloom for the first time! Cthulhu moved to my workplace earlier in the year. I started bringing plants to work to liven up a wonderfully suited corridor (floor to ceiling east and west facing windows). A few months ago, I moved him to this spot because the area where most of the plants are was too bright, but here, he must be happy! #Bloom #Blooming #Ctenanthe #neverneverplant #CtenantheSetosa #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PLANTMAFIA #workplants #freshleaffriday

Fungus gnats SOS My plant (fishbone prayer) started with brown spots. When I checked the soil, I found kind of really tiny flies. Thought they might be fungus gnats. I started with potassium soap treatment, but it's been a couple of weeks and my plant doesn't seem better. It started growing some new leaves but they don't stop turning brown and I still can see the insects. Today, I saw the flies in another plant (snake plant) even though I isolated the first one. I'm afraid others are getting the plague. Any other recommendations? Better to change the soil?

Curled leaves??? What is going on here? My calathea’s leaves rolled up all of a sudden. They’re not browned or crispy at all, they feel pretty normal, they just curled up and flopped. I thought it was a lack of humidity and put it next to a humidifier and that did nothing. Then my stromanthe did the same thing. Is there any hope? What on earth is happening? #PlantTherapy #help

Feline shenanigans My tortiseshell cat Ivy will not leave my Golden Mosaic plant leaves alone. I am new to house plants so I’m really hoping she will get bored after the newness wears off but meanwhile, any tips or tricks to keep her from eating the leaves? Is Bitter Apple spray ok to use on the leaves she’s been munching on? I just want to have nice things! Thanks!

What other plant parents say

I brought this plant home having done zero research into prayer plants 😑.
The poor girl was in low humidity which meant the leaves curled up, which I thought meant she needed more water, which lead to overwatering, which lead to fungus gnats, which lead to me letting her dry out too much, which lead to spider mites, which lead to a homemade neem/ dish soap mixture, which lead to all the leaves yeeting themselves off the plant 😑.
I repotted her surprisingly very healthy roots and left the pot basically alone (only watering when dry). After three months she’s making a come back and the tiny baby leave are even praying!!!!!!
