About Alocasia Pink Dragon
Alocasias, commonly known as Elephant Ears, are some of the most common houseplants although their leaves can reach enormous sizes when grown outdoors! 🐘 They typically only support a few leaves at a time (more, when they get more sun!) so don't be concerned if you see an old leaf begin to retire after a new one emerges. They grow out of underground corms which are similar to bulbs, so next time you repot keep an eye out for baby Alocasias! They contain calcium oxalate crystals so be sure to keep them out of reach if you have children or pets! ⚠️

How to fertilize Alocasia Pink Dragon
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Alocasia Pink Dragon after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

For #FreshLeafFriday , I wanted to share my absolutely gigantic pink dragon alocasia leaf. She the first #Alocasia I ever got and the one that started my love for them. 🥰 Definitely by far one of the easiest I own. #AlocasiaAddicts #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict

Not sure on Plant Identity? I bought a plant from BJs wholesale yesterday w/o a tag telling me what it is. The Greg App identified it as a Taro plant (Colocasia). I’m not too certain on it, so I wanted to ask the awesome Greg Community what y’all think my new plant child is?😅 #PlantID #NewGrowth #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PLANTMAFIA #Taro #Colocasia #plantmom #FreshLeafFriday

How do you acclimate an Alocasia to a new humidity level? Hello everyone! I am new to #corms and I successfully had several sprout their first leaf. The thing is, they were under humidity domes and most decided to have their leaves straight in the side of the dome so I had to remove them to avoid water on their leaves. I added a ziploc bag on each so they don’t go into shock from the humidity change but I would really love to remove that collection of plastic bags eventually. What would be the best way to go about this? Thank you all ☺️ I added the mother plant who gave me 16 beautiful and healthy baby pink princess Alocasia. #AlocasiaAddicts #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #Alocasia

When I bought my Pink Dragon last weekend it had some roots (?) above the soil. Is that normal for these or should I add some more soil. Not quite ready for a re-pot yet as it’s doing fine. Thanks! #AlocasiaPinkDragon

Spots on ny pink dragon! Got this girl about three weeks ago and all of a sudden these spots came up! She has been watered once when she was about 70% dry, she is under grow lights, and i cannot see any pests on her. She also has well draining soil and is in a nursery pot (hasnt been repotted from the nursery). Is this fungal or what? Maybe a burn? Should i chop the affected leaves?? Any help is appreciated!

Brown edges This is my alocasia polly I got about a month ago. She came slightly browned from the store but it has progressed to this point over the last month. She is always very thirsty and if I don't water at least every few days she starts getting droopy and the soil very dry. She has put out a new leaf since I got her that looks very healthy and beautiful! I keep a water bulb in her soil that has worked very well on all my plants in the past. She is about 10 ft from a west facing window. The humidity in the room is consistently 50% and the temperature ranges from 17.5- 20.5 Celsius due to poor air conditioning in my house :( I've never had an alocasia before and I love her very much and just want to make her happy. The edges have browned and have the same texture as the rest of the leaves except for being crispier at the tip. What can I do to help her? Should I cut off the leaf? Is there something I can change about the care? Any help is very much appreciated!!

What should I do with my Pink Dragon Alocasia? So, I admittedly don’t know a thing about alocasias, but my daughter saw it & was adamant we bring her home. I’ve had her for a couple of weeks & it has looked like this since then. I thought the top leaf would’ve unfurled by now but it hasn’t. It was absolutely soaked when I got it so I haven’t watered it yet but I’m starting to think it may need to be repotted in a better draining soil. I have orchid bark, potting mix, & sphagnum moss that I mix? Would that be good for it? I heard they’re a little temperamental.
