How to fertilize Elephant Ear Philodendron
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Elephant Ear Philodendron after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

What would you do? Hi everyone, kind of reaching a conundrum with this giant philodendron. I got it from a friend that moved away a few years ago, but it has gotten a bit too large/spindly. We call it the Mind Flayer. It wants to take over. 😂 I don’t really have a bright enough window with space for it - maybe my east facing bedroom screen door/window.. but outside from the morning because of trees it doesn’t get much light still. I’m just not sure what to do.. Can it be propped? If so what’s the best way to go about that with these big fellas?? #Philodendron #Propagation #GregGang #help

Phillie's life is in your hands! I was so excited today to buy a large potted philodendron today; however, I was out running errands longer than expected and left her in the car too long (full on sun). I noticed when I got back in the car that some leaves were wilted and although I poured bottled water on it while I was driving, I later noticed scorch spots appeared on the leaves. Is there any hope for bringing this plant back? It hasn't even been in my house 6 hours yet! #philodendron

Laying the trunk sideways, and growing horizontal. #Philodendron indoors for the cold approaching winter. Cut off the large yellowing leaves. Planted the large trunk horizontal. Fingers crossed for new growth on the trunk.

water -> soil? #Philodendron hii!! so gomez has been through the ringer. he began much bigger and came in a pot with two other bulbs. the other two bulbs got root rot and this is the only one to survive. i started to propagate him in soil but have recently moved him into water. do you think his roots are long enough to transfer back to soil?
