So I thought, Why not try growing it emersed? After all, Cryptocoryne in the wild often grow emersed along river banks or marshes, before transitioning into their submerged state underwater during the rainy season until the dry spells come again. So I potted him up in some leftover aquasoil in a disposable drinking cup, and there! Meet Plato! The runner also had some growth coming from it, so right now I'm trying to get it the grow as well, so here's Pluto! First photo is my colony of Crypts :) FUN FACT: Cryptocoryne are a kind of arum or aroid, belonging to the Araceae family, meaning they are closely related to Philos, Monsteras, Pothos, Peace Lilies, Anthuriums, Alocasia, Rhaphidophora, Scindapsus and a bunch more!
