I’ve been exceedingly lucky the past two weeks, plant-wise! My girl @SunflowerSunset snagged me this beautiful Aglaonema Pink Emerald, my amazing, kind, thoughtful coworkers gave me this absolutely gorgeous Philodendron Red Anderson for Bosses’ Day, and I found a variegated umbrella tree (my mom has always had one, so I’ve been wanting one for sentimental reasons), and I also scored a very cheap inch plant and Tea Anemone Hoya! $5 each for those two! And, my mom’s friend gave me two cuttings from her Hawaiian Pothos, along with a rooted neon pothos that I’m going to add to my existing one to give it some volume. In 1982 he gave it to me because he knew I love plants. It grew to be so huge that one year I made the mistake of cutting it down too drastically, and all that came back. Was one stem now as it grows a new stem of leaves the bottom leaves fall off. I am wanting to try to propagate this shift. It has become not just a plant but a true part of the family my father died in 2014 and I would be devastated if I lost this plant so I’m begging for any help I can get. I don’t know how to do all the hashtags so I’m hoping I can get help from anyone who reads this message .

I was given this GIGANTIC plant today. Her name is Ida Mae. I thought she was a money tree, but upon further research I am leaning more towards her being an umbrella tree. Anybody know for sure? She's huge, almost as tall as I am and I'm 5'8". I repotted her in a peat/perlite/sand/compost mix in a wooden barrel pot with drainage, then gave her a good drink. I did put a small grow light on her to supplement light as she is about 3 feet from a North facing window. Anyway.
