The Ping Rock has BEGUN! Started on my Ping Rock…More coming in to add to this beauty 😍😍😍 Sooo what did we do here.. 1. made up a really sandy carnivore soil.. 2. took a glass pie dish and started with a base on the sandy mixture.. 3. put some lava rocks (boiled them for 20 minutes first) on top how I wanted them… 4. then covered the area I wanted to have pings root with the same soil mix 5. then ever so carefully placed these little ones on top to let root..😍😍😍 6. finished off with some mood moss at the bottom so hopefully that will root as well.. 7. CP CLUB THURSDAY for September 5th, 2024 Welcome to #cpclubthursday 🌟NOW 180 MEMBERS !🌟 SPECIAL FEATURE: The 3 Sundew Sisters: Tropical Sundews - the Drosera adelae, D. prolifera, and D. schizandra. #3sundewsisters I have extracted the following information on these 3 sundew sisters: Originating from tropical Australian Queensland, Drosera adelae, D. prolifera and D. schizandra, three closely related species, are considered as the 3 Sisters. These species are endemic to far north Queensland. They are unique to the genus in that they are found growing exclusively in rainforest habitat. Peter D'Amato has referred to Drosera adelae, D. prolifera, and D. schizandra as the three sisters from Queensland. The leaves of mature plants are about as different looking as any sisters could be but they are more closely related to each other than they are to any other Drosera. And like any three sisters, each has different growing preferences. But they are united in that juvenile plants do have similar leaves and the flowers are similar as well. The tropical Drosera adelae, D. prolifera, and D. schizandra are about as close as you can get to jungle sundews. There are other Drosera that live in tropical regions and overlap the range of these species such as Drosera burmannii, D. indica, D. banksii, and D. spatulata, but they are not restricted to the wet tropical habitats and are definitely not jungle or rainforest plants. Well, actually, there is now a new sister! Recently a fourth "sister" was discovered and it was named Drosera buubugujin. They are here!! After a few extra days at the post office, my plants that were supposed to arrive in time for #freshleaffriday were delivered today! I'm finally a #pinguicula mom! I could not be more excited about these little #butterwort babes 😍 Any #carnivorousplants / #carnivorousclub tips? I'm not-so-secretly terrified 😬 I purchased soil from the seller and made pots with drainage and soaking trays out of old baby food containers so I could see the moisture levels without disturbing the leaves. I've had so many random plant-y things I've taken photos of and just not had a full post to say about them. So here are photos I took with all the #greggers in mind. The chaos of my potting bench after a "couple trades" turned into a lot of unexpected bonus plants. My #hoyarosita already had a little sun stress when I got her 🤤 My #peperomia props have been hysterical to watch grow in glass. Leaves literally everywhere!
