#HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict I was so excited to share my #NewGrowth just in time for #FreshLeafFriday. I have some exciting new plants that are just making it look easy! First up my #BirdsNestFern. Stormy is living it up with new fronds emerging. Next we have Hilo my Silver Dragon from the #GregPlantShop . She’s taken off and my goodness the new corms coming up under the soil, can’t wait to harvest. Coming in third is Fancy leaf. Shes a Mrs Pollack tricolor #geranium that arrived in bad shape but seems to be turning around with new leaves. I’ve also successfully propagated a Raindrop Pepermonia by rooting a single leaf. Look how cute those tiny leaves are. Lastly, a new plant which is a RoseLily. One I’ve never seen before similar to the Lily but it has double blooms and it smells even sweeter than #StarGazerLily. The opening bloom was closed this morning. So pretty

#FreshLeafFriday! Once again, I’m thwarted by the 5 photo limit, so look for more #NewGrowth in the comments! 1) I’m super excited today as I woke up this very morning to find my #FalseChristmasCactus had finally bloomed for the first time since I got it! The shade is gorgeous! It has a white flower about to open, too, so I think it’s actually 2 plants, but whatever, variety is the spice of life and all that! 🌵🌸 2) My #Geranium has produced its first blooms of the year. She pushes flowers out constantly once she gets going, so I’m looking forward to that 🌺🌺🌺 3 & 4) My #StromantheTriostar is blessing me with two new leaves, and one is almost open! I can’t wait to see it. I was so nervous about getting this plant, because I’d read they were “difficult” but I’ve kept her soil moist and the humidifier full and she has been content 🌱💖 5) My #PhilodendronBirkin has a new leaf which looks almost entirely white, and I’m not sure that’s good (for photosynthesis). Hoping those faint green markings will become more prominent. Forgot it was #FreshLeafFriday with everything going on. Everyone has such beautiful new growth! And it’s only going to get better as it gets warmer 🤗 This week, my #SilverLeafPhilodendron has two new leaves unfurling! This plant has been producing since the day I got it and it’s so much fun. My #DwarfUmbrellaTree got a repot into a repurposed cookie jar that I drilled a drainage hole into, and he’s clearly happy because he’s giving me 3 teeny umbrellas 🥳 Finally, my #Geranium is throwing out new leaves like crazy. I love how fast they grow in the spring! Flowers will not be far behind 💖😊🪴 I hope everyone has a great weekend. Special shoutout to @PoniesAndPlants for being an amazingly supportive friend this week. Any tips for making my geranium bushier? When I first got it, I wasn’t giving it enough water or sunlight, which I think contributed to the long woody stem it’s got. Now, it’s in a south-facing window with lots of light and I water it about once a week, but the long woody stem is a bit unsightly to me. Just want to share a sweet moment that happened this morning with a neighbour and this geranium: We have a local community Facebook group where people give away or swap plants. Someone was coming by to pick up an Amaryllis that I was giving away. I’ve been thinking about giving away my geranium as well but just hadn’t posted it in the group yet. But for some reason I just thought maybe I’ll check if this person would like the geranium as well since she’s already coming. So I asked her and she said yea, and when I gave both plants to her she told me her aunt loved geraniums and that ever since she passed away, she would be buy a geranium each year in her aunt’s memory and put it out on her balcony. This was her first year where she hadn’t bought one yet and was looking for one, and I just happened to have one waiting for her. I loved seeing how happy she was, and I can’t help but feel like these moments were meant to happen this way. Like i was meant to hold on to that plant until she came by even though I’ve been thinking about giving it away for weeks. Or of course it could all just be one big coincidence 😅 but I like the “meant to be” theory more. But anyways, it just made me feel all warm inside and I wanted to share here.
