I’ve got some plants I’ve heard enjoy weekly feeding, while others said annually & I’m not gonna lie it’s overwhelming to spend that amount of time trying to do the research on each individual plant and hope I trust the right source. #Currentlyusing #MiracleGro Tropical soil for indoor plants, with the indoor liquid fertilizer but am confused about HOW to use it because I swore it said pump it directly in to soil. I’ve also resorted to some of those fertilizer sticks as a more consistent source while trying to figure out my herd’s needs, but I’m fearful of causing more harm 3 0 Comments @ThePlantMomLife · 2Y Okay so I really wanted to get in on @SuperblyLilac ‘s idea from last Tuesday, but I was out of town at the time. Welp! I just got done organizing my plant stuff and here it is! Hope this helps someone! #TuesdayTipsTricksIdeasHelps #GregGang #GreggersSupportingGreggers #Greggers #GregCommunity #PlantParents #StickingTogether #Fertilizing #CareTips #Watering #PlantCare #Organizing #KeepingItSimply #PlantParentHacks This post ended up being very long because I wanted to share all my gadgets. All items are detailed by their number tag. (1) Precise Watering - At first I was just using this watering can for mainly succulents, but it’s now for ALL my babies. It works well with my Quick Shake. (2) Quick Shake - I used to sell Tupperware for a short time and during that time I acquired the Quick Shake measuring cup. My plants have taken this away from me lol because it has helped out SO MUCH in giving them just the right amount of water they need. In the beginning I was giving them too much so if you’re like I was something like this would be great 👍🏻 (3) Spray Water - In time I’m going to invest in something better for dusting and shining up my plant leaves. Until then I’m just using plain water. I rub them down with the super soft black gloves you see below. (4) Ground Cinnamon - Great for encouraging roots to grow and keeping the fungus away! (5) Crushed Eggshells - I’ve been collecting these throughout the summer. It’s great as fertilizer for any kind of plant. All I do is place the shells in a ziplock bag, crush them with a rolling pin, and store them in this small jar. (6) Insectide - I can’t remember the brand of this product. It’s very gentle and has helped in keeping my plants healthy and happy. The only bugs I’ve actually had encounters with is gnats (working on that problem now). (7) Succulent/Cactus Food - Dynamite. This is a great brand that was super cheap at Wal-Mart. (8) Peroxide - At times when my plants need a treatment I’ll mix some water with this and pour over their exposed roots to give them a good rinse. My Bloodleaf had some mold in her soil a few months back. I unpotted her and used this mixture. She responded well and has done great. (9) Sheers - The pair of large sheers is a Hobby Lobby purchase I got because it was better for some of my more larger plants like the #MajestyPlalm and those with thicker stems. This way you won’t be torturing your plant just to remove one bad leaf. No one likes to go to the doctor to get their blood drawn only to sit there in pain while the nurse digs around trying to find a vein right? 😭 Quick and simple is better 😉 One clean snip and you’re done! (10) Pink Sheers - I bought these at the Dollar Tree. They work well with my hanging plants and others that are more soft. (11) Chopsticks - These have helped me apply propagation roots to soil without being too rough. They make it easy to make just the right size holes and gently poke the roots down. May sound silly, but I feel safe using these simply because they’re quick and to the point for the delicate job I need to do. (12) Tool Set - My little gardener set I bought at Hobby Lobby has been fantastic for taking care of my indoor plants. It came with so much! The tiny sheers are great for small stems in tight places. The scoop I use to spread my crushed eggshell fertilizer. Most of the tools in this set I’ve used mainly for fertilizing and applying cinnamon treatments. The scissors also came with everything. (13) Moisture Meter - This is another great tool I’m so thankful I invested in. You can get good ones that aren’t expensive at all. Mine came from Lowe’s. (14) Brush - Extra makeup brush I had no use for so it’s my little helper when my succulents accidentally get splashed with water. It gently takes care of the problem! (15) Scoop - Another handy Tupperware idea! I keep two of these in my potting box and use them to scoop soil without making an extra mess everywhere. (16) Soft Gloves - A set of winter gloves I haven’t been wearing so they’re now my dusting 🧤 😉 (17) Tough Gloves - Cactus babies like to be prickle butts sometimes so this Mama keeps her fingers safe with an old pair of my dad’s gloves he used to set up barbed wire fences 👍🏻 I think I’m covered lol 😂 (18) Indoor Potting System - This large shallow storage box is great for repotting purposes if you don’t want to struggle in the hot weather. I often lay it out in my living room floor when I’m dealing with a larger plant who needs some attention. Along with an old hand and bath towel, this is a great way to get the job done and keep the dirt from making a mess. When I’m done I pack everything up and it easily slides under the daybed and is right there when I need it! (19) The white rocks in the other picture is one of my biggest lifesavers. My Calatheas & Bloodleaf absolutely loves these and have been thriving since I applied them. If you’re struggling with humidity loving plants this would be a great idea for you. You can get any kind you feel comfortable with. My came from the Dollar Tree. 4 7 Comments @L3thologica · 2Y I see a lot of people having issues with bugs, and I seem to always see they have bare soil. All of my plants have a layer of pea gravel, with some nice decorative smooth rocks on top of that (the big rocks disperse the water so you don’t get divets in the rock/soil when watering and they look great, plus better temp regulation). That layer of pea gravel will not only keep gnats and other bugs from laying eggs in the soil, but it helps maintain soil moisture and fertilizer (fertilizer is water soluble and thus will evaporate when allowed to - that’s part of the reason “No Till” gardening/farming is gaining steam). #HappyPlants #fertilizing #soilskills #SoilMix #Watering #Fertilizer #pests #fungusgnats #FiddleLeafFig #Pothos #PothosPack #TipsandTricks 23 16 Comments
