I just came back from Epcot!!! I went to Epcot yesterday and I was just finishing a boat ride where is saw that they were selling different types of plants in mini jars… I had always wanted a carnivorous plant so I decided to get a VFT!!! He is in some word jar that has clear jell inside and he is really small. He is just going to stay there until I can find what jar to replant him in… any suggestions (this is the first ever carnivorous plant so I have no idea what to do) #cpclubthursday #VFT #cpterrarium

Happy #cpclubthursday ! Today I am sharing my first attempt at constructing a Carnivorous Plant terrarium. I began with a layer of pebbles and charcoal, followed by sand, then a peat/perlite mix, into which I planted my tiny CPs. I included a Cape Sundew and a Spoon-Leaved Sundew as my plants, along with a few decorative rocks. I made another Carnivorous plant bog garden, this time with a drainage hole and cork stopper so I can drain excess rain. 🌧️ I drilled a hole in this plastic candy dish, added LECA and a tad bit of sphagnum moss on the bottom. A layer of sand, then carnivorous plant soil. I planted a spoon-leaved sundew and a Venus fly trap and added some live Sphagnum moss around the plants for added moisture retention & aesthetic purposes. I looove how this turned out and I am hoping these two plants I put in here will do well. They are both already acclimated to my back porch so we will see! DRUMROLL PLEASE... 🥁 ✨ ✨ ✨ Here it is!! My very first "bog garden"! My mystery plant was a "Dionaea muscipula" Venus fly trap! So I'm not sure what specific kind? Cute little guy with tinged red edges and teeth! Worked out perfect because that meant I could plant him and the "dente" VFT I got together in the bog! I decided to keep the cape sundew separate since it won't go dormant in the winter like the VFTs will. (Thank you for that, @Merranda) In the bottom is sphagnum moss to draw moisture towards the LECA I used as my "pebble layer". (Thank you for the suggestion about the moss, @Seymour) Then there is a layer of black sand, and finally the carnivorous plant soil with the plants! I added the moss they came wrapped in and some stones and fossils and a cute ceramic duck! 🦆 Quack!! I wasn't even looking, but I went into my local flower shop (which also carries cool plants), I was kinda looking for cool pots, and I saw these vases behind their counter. They said they'd sell them to me and my eyes lit up because I knew that I could use them for my carnivorous plant terrariums I have been planning! I got the little one for my first one, and the big one, ya know, in case I need to go all out and make a big one. Looks like my Spoon Leaf Drosera has put out 2 tiny and adorable pink flowers! I put together this #cpterrarium a couple of months ago and my sundews have really settled in. Moss Mail… So my Plant mail is delayed until tomorrow 😩😩 But….. Today I received Moss Mail… I placed a thin-thick layer over the sphagnum moss I have been spraying 2 times a day for the last week to keep moist and boggy… My questions are should I put under grow light? Also should I cover to keep humid like this or should I let it breath? Should I continue to spray 2x daily? I will need it in the next few weeks but help me keep it alive until then 😩😩😩 Any and all ProTips are welcome… Moss originated from a private Bog in N.
