#brunchataudreys Happy Thursday again everyone! Today's the day to start our little experiment restricting light to those Holiday Cactus to ensure blooms by Thanksgiving! If you're not into it that's perfectly fine because we're going to need some that aren't to determine if all the hassle covering and uncovering for the next 6-8 weeks is even going to be worthwhile. Starting tonight at 6 pm either cover them with a box large enough to completely cover the entire plant without damage or move it inside to a dark closet until 8 am. Time can be adjusted to fit work schedules just as long as they remain in complete darkness for 14 hours a day. So set an alarm on your phone so you don't forget. 😁👍 I've got some new growth happening over here! I know it's going to slow down soon so I'm milking it for all it's worth lol I didn't plan this but it looks like it's Philodendron day! I’m considering getting a true Christmas cactus I found from an Etsy seller- but the plant will be a starter plant and probably need repotting sooner than a Christmas cactus typically would. Could anyone advise me on what soil would be best? My little pink #FalseChristmasCactus is blooming! The density of the flower buds is unreal! I’ve only seen this in stores before, when I figured they’d given the plant the equivalent of steroids in order to sell more to the masses 🤣 This baby hasn’t even been fertilized yet. I need advice on my Christmas Cactus’s. I have three that I purchased this season and they were loaded with blooms but when I brought them home, they slowly started to die and fall off. Even the buds never bloomed. They all dried up and fell off. I haven’t over watered and they’re in front of a west facing window. This seems to always happen when I get a new Christmas or Thanksgiving cactus. What can I do to help them bloom and to continue to bloom? #christmascactus #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #thanksgivingcactus
