Hi all. It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Wanted to share a couple of new plants. Got the Song of India about 3 weeks ago. I put it in my Talavera pot and it has not only grown at least 2 inches all over, but I now have 3 babies! The other is a set of snake plants I got on Etsy…and I just wanted to show off the Tentacke I got- I thought they were really cute- at night time- they glow!!! My new shipments are Hoyas came today, and so did my little, little cute cyrtosperma johnstonii! I can’t wait to see these dinosaur 🦕 scale-like leaves! So the problem of the day is dormancy. The plants in the greenhouse are about to face Houston’s scorching summer. I’ve set up fans and shade for those that will be going dormant and allowing my winter dormant plants to enjoy the sunshine without drying up. When I water I need to know who’s who. So to save having to write on labels I decided to use a color scheme with yellow for summer dormant and light blue for winter. Oh and they asked me if I wanted to add something to my order. I ventured out this morning to inspect the plants before the sun becomes too intense and bright. I’m back inside now, but not before capturing a few photos. The greenhouse is incredibly humid this morning! The acclimating outdoor plants are looking remarkably better. Ive never had luck with calatheas or in geberal with plants that need higher humidity but somehow, wver since i got this one few weeks ago it sprouted and keeps sprouting new leaves + its been flowering like crazy….its really loving the place i feel! I did some work in the yard today. Planted zinnia seeds, Amaryllis and hyacinth bulbs. Also planted a lilac bush, sweet pea plant, Mandevilla, gardenia as well as the marigolds in my little courtyard. I mixed in some sun flower seeds in the middle of the marigolds!!
