The Pulaski County High School (PCHS) FFA Chapter is excited to announce our Spring Plant Sale is happening now in the PCHS greenhouse! We’ve got a beautiful selection of flowers Along with plants available throughout the school day, with prices starting around $2 to $3—and as the plants get bigger and more beautiful, prices increase gradually. Before you stop by, please check the flyer at the start of the pictures. Come support local students and add some color to your home or garden—we’d love to see you there! Long post alert 🚨 So… I have a confession🫣… I had no business spending extra money yesterday…I was minding my own business🤷🏽‍♀️ just trying to get a beautiful bouquet 💐 for my beautiful mom who turned 81 yesterday…she has dementia but she’s ALWAYS loved flowers 🌺…and I turn around and there were these beautiful baby plants 🪴 that I couldn’t resist adding to the family. I spent my ‘not supposed to spend’ money, smh 🤦🏽‍♀️ Am I becoming an addict?🫢 but I love them!!!😩😩😩 So I just consoled myself and said …anyway…YOLO! And walked out the store with these babies! Lol… my new guilty pleasure. Shhhhhhh 🤫. #plantsinthewild ! This weekend, I went on a trip to see Sarracenia in the wild! Despite living in the same state that they grow, the best areas to see them are still over 6 hours away from me. It was absolutely magical getting to stand in a field of Sarracenia! I couldn't exactly put the feeling into words. It almost didn't feel real. Plus, the trails we went on were absolutely beautiful. One overlooked a breathtaking swamp, while another went through an equally pretty marsh. Wetlands are really something special, they are magical places. At one of the places, the ditch outside of the park was full of Sarracenia leucophylla and Drosera tracyi. The Drosera tracyi was so plentiful that they made the entire ditch look like it was glowing! Once again, it was magical. Today I drove down the scenic byway in the apalachicola national forest in Florida. Off the side of the road, there was a big patch of Sarracenia. It was amazing being able to see them in the wild. I saw 3 species of sarracenia that I recognized & a few different hybrids as well. I also found some small sundews. The photos don't do it justice. It felt magical being able to see them all in the wild!! In the Florida Panhandle there's tons of places to see carnivorous plants in the wild.
