I think my Indian shot is coming back, which is so great! We have a patch of middle dirt between us and the neighbors. I’ve been trying to find things to grow there, and I finally planted two jujube and an almond tree this year, but the Indian shot I planted last year is coming back! That’s pushing the zone here with 4 trees that shouldn’t grow here. Second year: two olive trees 🫒; second year: myer lemon tree (although it’s taken a bad hit; my plant killer saga got to it.. 🤦♀️) then today I got to plant my cold hardy orange 🍊 mandarin tree! - that’s a first year, but it’s two gallons so it’s pretty ready for this! Can’t wait. It’s going to take a lot more to get it to survive, but the start is great! 😊 Teddy was helping me figure out how big our hole was. 🤣 I love Ted, and Awsha and her daughter Siggy were out sleeping while I worked around them. In case you weren’t here a few weeks ago for my first post about this, I gathered 14 lemons from some used lemons in my kitchen and I decided to soak them and plant them directly into soil. If you’ve been following my lemon seed progress I have good news! There’s nothing sprouted yet however when I was watering the soil today I noticed that I accidentally washed the soil away from a seed and therefore exposing it, so I took that opportunity to check the seed out… AND IT ROOTED. I added a bit of topsoil back and finished watering. I think it’s safe to assume that the other seeds have also rooted and will soon sprout!!! #lemoncrew #LemonTree 0 0 Comments
