Who’s ready for a #GregGivesBack monthly #GregGiveaway?! 🎁 I know I am!! I was thinking about all the things going on in life lately. Lots of things have changed and some of my plants have been SUPER FORGIVING #HappyPlants … and some #DramaticPlants have been #NotSoHappyPlants ( #CompostTime 🥀). For many #greggers growing season is about to start so this month we want to know all about your favorite new growth! What plant takes your breath away with every new leaf, frond, or flower? What plant do you check 380 times per day because it is closer every time? What plant brings you so. much. joy. EVERY TIME? We want to see and we want to know why! So tell us below! For me, I couldn't decide (shocking). But as you know my #maranta gives me a different leaf every time, so it's definitely up there. Between different patterns and new fenestrations my #thaiconstellationmonstera is definitely one I watch obsessively. Lastly, my #ficusumbellata is one I can't leave alone. The leaves get so big and pillowy so fast it's like I blink and they go from baby to bigger than my hand! Hey #GregGang, happy Saturday! It's time for another #GregGivesBackGiveaway! 📣 I don't know about you, but I'm itchy. Like, itchy all over and I am trying so hard not to scratch but I also know it's going to happen so maybe I should just give in now? Itching to buy a new plant that is.  Something about the time change and longer days makes my brain do three things: plan the garden, think about playing rugby again, and want to buy all the houseplants.  I have the garden planned, seeds purchased, and am basically waiting until the soil can be worked at this point.  I think I talked myself out of getting back on the pitch for at least another season (I'll have to talk myself out of it again in th fall).  Most importantly, I am repotting, washing leaves, pruning, etc to try and show myself I have enough plants to take care of and don't need more. BUT we all have that one plant. The plant that we have given up trying to talk ourselves out of and know we will just buy. For me, it is any hoya or ficus I don't have yet. I know that if I walk into a nursery, greenhouse or store and they have one that is not in my collection it will be coming home with me.  SO we want to know, what is your "one plant." The plant you have to have every varietal of, or the plant you have been searching for, or the plant that you know you give into every time, etc? It's #GregGivesBack #GIVEAWAY TIME! Sometimes I look around and I realize that I have certain plants that tell MY STORY! For instance: I have a Florida Ghost. In 2022, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! It was a plant to be envied; it was a single, dainty stem with mint green leaves and COMPLETELY WHITE LEAVES. It seemed like the perfect #Wishlist plant. (First Picture) Then, I had a TOTAL life-change. I’m not gonna lie: 2023 was ROUGH. (Second Picture) Some days, I felt like death warmed over and I felt very bare. No beautiful leaves, no perfect foliage … just an ugly stem. Finally, I decided to do some pruning in my life. Pruning can hurt. I took the ugly stem of my once beautiful Ghost and I cut it in half. I gave my plant new soil and a new location. Now, (Picture Three) I have SEVEN new points of growth and the beginnings of EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL LEAVES! Sometimes when it seems that all is lost, it’s just time to do some pruning so you have a chance to grow even more!
