How to fertilize Bear's Paw
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Bear's Paw after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

why would my bear claw plant do this? i pulled this leaf off of her earlier, yesterday i checked on her this morning and i had to pull the leaf off. should i move her and if so where?
-
how can i tell if my plant is getting what he needs? i keep my bear with most my other plants on the porch and he’s not really grown at all, i just want to make sure he’s getting what he needs

#succulentsquad Here's the thing about succulents: they are complicated. The other side of that is that they are full of surprises and quirks. That aloe used to be bright green. The Astrophytum flowers resemble bird plumage and do three different billboard displays of color before/during/after a bloom. One of the grey nubs grew a second arm. The surprise with the Bear Paw is that it loves a little intense sun; no surprise that it's finicky and basically got its own special grow light.

Do they have to be inside for sunlight? I’m new at this 😅 #BearsPaw

New plant I picked up a bear paw succulent a couple days ago, I’m fairly experienced with succulents but any tips would be appreciated. Does anyone have photos of their bear paw they’d like to show off, I’d love to have something to look up to with growing. I’ll edit photos into this post in a bit, but I’m away from my plants rn. #BearsPaw #NewPlants #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove

#succulentsquad I was watching a thing and saw this plant in the winner's circle. So, by default, my plant is also a red ribbon winner.

Note to self: Do not water bear paw plants until leaves look wrinkly. If the soil is dry but the paws are still plump, the plant is happy…DO NOT WATER. Just learned this thanks to Tik tok😭

Pleasantly surprised to see a flower coming out of my bear paw !!! ❤️

How do I make Clooney produce more leaves? Will changing his pot and soil to a better draining one help? #BearsPaw #BearsPaw

I wouldn’t recommend clustering a bear claw succulent with other types of succulents. I found that their care is very unique, and they have to get used to the sunlight from your window. The older bear paws have sunburns on them, but they got used to my window and now they don’t get sunburnt anymore. Since repotting it by itself, it has been giving me sooo much new growth. Paws used to drop like flies before, and now it is growing multiple leaves from every little spot that it has dropped from. They respond very well to the succulent fertilizer, being ignored for a lil more than a week, and they are just so adorable.
