Do I need to repot the whole plant in order to add a moss...

My monstera is growing a bit out of control and needs some support so it will grow more upright and less wide. It would be really difficult to fully repot it. Can I add a moss pole without damaging the roots?

I’d leave it unless it’s potbound.Moss poles have sharp posts to stick into the soil so repotting shouldn’t be necessary. ❀️❀️❀️
#️⃣#️⃣ HASHTAG FYI #️⃣#️⃣

To increase the chances of someone seeing your post it’s important to add several popular hashtags.

Notice the number of members in a group. You will find the membership on the drop down that appears after you type β€œ#” If there are few or no members, the hashtag is likely inactive and it may not produce the help you need.

Creating a hashtag within your post does not necessarily help. Unless the # you post is for a group that currently exists, it won’t get your message out. For that you would need to create your own group.

Here’s how to add good hashtags.

You could try a trellis for support instead of a moss pole.
@TruthfulApricot thank you for the tips! I’ll give a miss pole a go!
@Green-life Your Monstera is beautiful & established nicely just the way it is. 😍 But I understand if your space isn’t allowing for it to grow wide & wanting it to grow upright. Adding a moss pole is a game changer. Some people really don’t like the look of poles. And some pole every plant they have to encourage upright growth & larger leaves. I just speak from experience that when my Monstera was much smaller & I added a moss pole, he grew more upright with stability. It was more of an experiment when I repotted & poled mine. I really wasn’t too educated about it but managed to do it correctly from videos. Yours is quite full & matured. It could be more of a challenge to repot at this time. I’ve seen a video where someone added a pole to the outer pot & tied up some of the petioles to the pole to encourage upright growth habit. You may be able to find it on YouTube. If you’re feeling like you could manage a repot & pole, I have found the plastic D fold one to work nicely with the Monstera (see pic). Amazon has inexpensive plastic poles. Good luck with whatever you’re deciding. Keep us posted of your lovely Monstera. I would like to see the outcome. ❀️πŸͺ΄
