WHAT’S MY NAME? πŸ‘½ 🐊 πŸ… #WhatTheSuccWednesday #HelpMeNameM...

So here is my latest succulent acquisition and I finally got myself a Tiger’s Jaw, although to me it looks more like an Alien as in from Alien (1979), Aliens (1986) and maybe even the latest, Alien Romulus (2024)? Has anyone seen the latest Aliens movie? Should I risk it?!?
Or is it a green alligator 🐊 ? I don’t know πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ but I would be interested in your thoughts and ideas for a name as I am sure there are some great ones out there. And finally I have a new succulent before this weeks #WhatTheSuccWednesday. So I don’t fill up the thread thanks to @RJG with heaps of photos of my Tiger’s Jaw #tigerjaws and also my β€œsoon to be flowering πŸ€žπŸ™Aloe Vera #AloeVera, I thought I best have my own post plus I also want a name for this tiger πŸ…
So can you help me and look to join #HelpMeNameMyPlant ?
Some plants look funny, some plants look bizarre and some are just plant weird πŸ€ͺ
Go get β€˜em, Tiger 🐯!!!! #Seymour #theamigos

Tiger jaws looks amazing!!! Why not call it Ripley lol
Jaws. Like the movie
@Seymour #Seymour and here is the current state of my Aloe Vera which has decided it’s time to try for a flier and a few more photos back at the Aliens lair .
GET a TIGER’S πŸ… JAW - They’re GRRRRREAT, Mate ! 🐯
@Seymour if anyone is interested, here is some good information on Tiger’s Jaw and some photos of examples

https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/cacti-succulents/tiger-jaws/growing-tiger-jaws-succulents.htm
Crocodile Dundee (?)
Daryl Dixon. Dunno why, just getting vibes lol
Chompy. Bitey. *angry chihuahua noises*
Definitely a Jonesy for me Hun @seymour after the cat in Alien, obviously 😹😹

Or Xeno, as in Xenomorph?.... Following a train of thought πŸ€”πŸ€£

What a cool looking creature he is! xxx
Wow @Seymour that plant looks dangerous to me!! Hope it doesn’t hurt you when you have to replant it!! It does look Alien like in that first photo you shared!! 🦷 πŸ€¨πŸ‘½
Y’all are missing it. Clearly a Godzilla if I’ve ever seen one!!!
He looks a lot like a Jurassic Park creature! I’d suggest Malcolm from that picture but it seems like too gentle a name for the fierceness of your plant. Maybe Mr DNA.
@Seymour Very cool plant ! It looks like a T Rex in the first picture though I love @SuperblyLilac s answer too . Good luck
@Seymour If it was me I would name it Audrey II just like the killer plant from Little Shop of Horrors (1986). It’s a great plant lovers comedy.
Immediately thought of Disney tigers
@Seymour went to see Romulus this weekend and it was AMAZING!! The director really captured the original Alien vibe and the scares were perfect! Highly recommend but I’m a bit of a sci-fi πŸ€“ I second @JenniB81 suggestion…definitely a Jonesy!
Sigourney
@WildDaisies Audrey @PoisedAlbo named her plant Ripley so I ended up up calling a Cephalotus CP Ridley (Scott) after the director of Alien so I wouldn’t like to β€œborrow” Ripley although it’s an excellent name for such a plant. Not sure the character Ripley would like to be called an Alien, suspect she might say β€œGet away from her, you b@$h!”like she did in Aliens (1986) LOL πŸ˜‚
@UltraKoreanfir Liked the way you β€œWeaver”-ed that last suggested name in, Melisse πŸ‘πŸ˜€πŸ‘½
@Amateurbotany Hey Rachael, I think I am going to have to see what the fuss is all about with Alien Romulus after having recently rewatched Aliens πŸ‘½ πŸ‘½
Thanks for the heads up πŸ‘ The legend is that James Cameron pitched Aliens by writing Alien on a board and then adding a dollar sign so it read Alien$ ! Sounds like more Alien movies may follow after this last one πŸ˜ƒ
@Seymour we just rewatched 1-3…classics!!
@SuzAnthophile Hey Suzanne, I love Shere Khan the Tiger πŸ… from The Jungle Book as it was voiced by George Sanders who had the most mellifluous voice and I love his acting 🎭 a great suggestion so thanks for sharing. Don’t know the Aladdin tiger that well but great movie too! Thanks for the suggestions
@Amateurbotany Poor David Fincher with Aliens 3, if only he had been allowed to do what he had wanted to without studio interference. Alien still holds up well and I hear πŸ‘‚ it β€œmakes an appearance” in Romulus but no spoilers here !!!
@Neverwas David, β€œfeed me Seymour !” @Seymour
And a great remake !
@ArdentNeontetra Godzilla Minus One !!! πŸ˜€πŸ‘
@SvelteKingfern Sophie, that’s not a name … πŸ”ͺ LOL πŸ˜‚ Hopimg to save that name for a Crocodile Skin Fern 🐊 or Crocodyllus Fern after putting another shrimp 🦐 on the Barbie !
@JenniB81 Watched Aliens recently and James (not Jimmy) Cameron shared how they made the cat hiss for the film, apparently put a strange cat in from of it and you get that reaction ! Jonesy was a highlight ! 🐈

Love the idea of the Xenomorph , Xeno is so close to Xena the Warrior Princess LOL πŸ˜‚ a great Kiwi πŸ₯ production and actress Lucy Lawless !
All right. How about, depending whether the plant is a she or a he, the "plain" Mike, or Sue. The person who is to know, will know. Are these big enough shrimps 🦐 🦐 on the Barbie for you 😁😁😁 @Seymour ?
This plant is giving me Ripley vibes ✨️ I'm going to see the Alien Romulus this weekend!
I would name him Herman after Herman Munster ;-)
@rebbieirl Hey Rebbie, love the angry chihuahua noises πŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ• I know too many Chompy and Bitey 🦷 🦷 Venus Fly Traps πŸͺ€ , even some of my Greg friends have called their VFTs Bitey and Chompy. Chompy reminds me of a chocolate bar we had heat called a β€œChomp” and the character does look a little like the Tiger’s Jaw 🐯
@Seymour LMAO oh so glad πŸ˜‚ ahh that’s fair! Those are very good names for those plants!
@Amateurbotany @JenniB81 @PoisedAlbo @SuzAnthophile @UltraKoreanfir @WildDaisies @ArdentNeontetra @CourtlyKingfern @oldplantlady @JazzyGardeNerd @Enlivenedlychee @BetterKiwifruit @Araceae @SvelteKingfern @SuperblyLilac @rebbieirl @PiousWaterfern @Neverwas @ILoveMyPlants

Well, that was fun everyone πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ I caved in and went with the name @WildDaisies first suggested although we were dancing around the name with Sigourney (Melisse) and I finally decided to surrender when I heard the sad demise of Audrey’s @PoisedAlbo Ripley.
I just couldn’t get Newt screaming β€œRipley” out of my head after a recent revisiting of Aliens (1986) and it’s hard to call it Queen Alien but I did add Romulus as suggested by Judy @oldplantlady and finally Xenomorph as suggested by Jenni @JenniB81 just so my Ripley doesn’t get confused for any other Ripleys.
I just hope I won’t regret adding Romulus after I see Alien Romulus πŸ€žπŸ™πŸ‘½but the reviews above are good πŸ‘
But now thanks to you all I want to get another Tiger’s Jaw, even if only a small one so I can give it another cool name suggested above. So thank you all for the cool 😎 names. In the meantime I welcome Ripley Romulus Xenomorph to the #HelpMeNameMyPlant named plant club !
@Seymour There could be a Alien Sequel one day…I spotted these just now πŸ‘½πŸ¦·βœŒοΈ
@BetterKiwifruit Thanks for seconding Ripley, let me lnow what you make of Alien Romulus if you remember πŸ‘πŸ˜€πŸ‘½
Hey, @Seymour went to see Alien Romulus today... I enjoyed it, but I felt a bit mixed about it, too. Now watching Alien Convant at home. Have you seen the movie yet? πŸ‘½
@BetterKiwifruit Hey Clare Rebecca, I suspect my response will be mixed as I already know a little about Alien Romulus and even Covenant and Prometheus were lacking even though great actors etc. So probably see Alien Romulus this week, thanks for sharing your comment. πŸ‘½Loads of sequels coming out at the movies this year🍿 πŸŽ₯
So I have one of these and it looks often like small little sharks with pointy noses sticking out with their jaws beginning to open. So my son and I named it β€œSharky”
@Suzieq2 I love the name Sharky 🦈 ,Susan! So good on your son and yourself for coming up with such a brilliant name, must be fun to discuss sharky with your son. Hope yours looks like a feeding frenzy with lots of happy sharks 🦈 surfacing πŸ˜€πŸ‘
