Direct vs Indirect Light

What is considered direct sunlight? Is light coming through a window with a screen indirect sunlight or is it direct sunlight? I can’t seem to find a solid answer to this question.

Even outside shade is considered indirect. So as others have said on here if you can look up and see the sun that’s direct that’s direct light
Direct sunlight is exactly what is says - the sun rays hitting your plant without cover. On the other hand, if there is a curtain, or if the plant if placed somewhere where the light only fills the room but doesn’t hit it directly, it would be indirect light. Careful, though - if something is actually in the way of any source of light hitting your plant, then it is not receiving any light at all.
