Led lights on at night near plants?
Hello! I have some led strip lights and am considering putting them around my plant table. Not to use as a light source for them, I already have a grow light and the table is in front of a window. I would be keeping this on at night for 1-2 hours whenever I feel like it. Will this negativity effect the plants? The grow lights are not on at the same time.

@dreamlettuce oh okay! I didn't know if they'd get mad at me lol. They're very fussy. Thanks for the help!
It may not hurt them but some plants with only flower or grow fruit if they have an un interrupted dark cycle consistently every night at the same time. But if it’s not one of those it may be fine. However some plants like cacti also need the dark in order to grow. They grow at night using the stored energy from the daytime sun. So they can’t have too much light at night also. Most plants are used to having a dark cycle but if they aren’t too bright or on for too long it may be okay. You can also buy lights made for that purpose. They have lights for your greenhouse or grow tent that I think are a green spectrum that won’t interrupt the dark cycle but will allow you to see and work in the greenhouse at night.
@RaineStorm no problem! If it’s for an hour or two, it should be okay honestly. I have mine from 7p-4a 🫣🫣 my sleep schedule is not healthy BUT as I’ve mentioned, my babies are all good 🤣
I also have an extra grow light for them in case my west window doesn’t get enough sun (neighbors house blocks sun)

@dreamlettuce yeah I have some that can have lights on by them inside all night long but then the lights may not be back on until late the next day. If you do have plants that need an uninterrupted dark cycle at the same time every night you can use lights like these. https://activegrowled.com/products/active-grow-integrated-dual-t8-4ft-led-dark-cycle-grow-light-green-dream-spectrum
@dreamlettuce I haven’t seen any problems with the ones out front either. There’s a light for the stairway that’s always on at night but I don’t think it’s bright enough to bother any of the plants. The cacti keep flowering and the tomatoes keep growing
@SirLiquorice oh wow! Those lights are cool but so expensive 🫣
I’m glad your cacti are flowering uninterrupted! It is always good to see your blooms on Greg 🙌🏽

@dreamlettuce you probably wouldn’t need to worry about those special lights. Only certain plants need a consistent uninterrupted dark cycle. Like the legal dispensary operations for example. Employees need to work in the greenhouse during the dark cycle sometimes. Marijuana plants are one that need a consistent 12 hour uninterrupted dark cycle in order to flower. So those lights are a must for those workers. But unless your growing a plant like that then you won’t need to worry.
