Self watering easyplant Planters

Would love feedback on these planters as theyre made out of plastic and dont have drainage holes. www.easyplant.com I need to repot my swiss cheese plant and my philodendron billietiae. Is the pot okay for these plants or is it better for one of these in particular? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #selfwateringplanter #easyplant #MonsteraAdonsonii #SwissCheeseVine #swisscheese #SwissCheesePlant #Monstera #MonsteraMob #MonsteraAdansonii #monsteraswisscheesevine #Monsteramadness #PhilodendronBillietiae #Philodendron #philodendro repotting">#repotting #GregGang #GreggersSupportingGreggers #Greggers #helpneeded #theamigos #TipsandTricks #hacks #help

@Frebs I think these pots work when you have the right TYPE of plant in the pot. Plants that like to be damp consistently, they do well. I had a baby tears plant that I lost because I couldn’t keep it wet enough. I got a new plant and put it in a self watering pot and it’s living its best life and has tripled in size. But a plant that likes and needs to dry out between waterings won’t do well in these types of pots.
I have 4 easy plants and been impressed. Each pot has a water reservoir and a string which remains wet and waters the plant. It’s been a great option.
Personally, I don't like self-watering pots. The string is constantly wet so essentially your plant is sitting in water all the time.
@Lifeis2short have to agree. I lost more than a couple in these so it really depends on the plant. I wouldn't personally with those two.
@Tidydad I have been considering buying some of these pots but I don’t know what kind of maintenance goes in to having self watering pots. If you don’t mind me asking, how often do you have to clean the water reservoir? Does it have any algae or mosquito problems with the water always being in the pot?
@OrangeGrass a plant I took in from the street was on it so I dont know anything about the maintenance. I repotted the plant bc it was not meant to be in a plastic container.
@Frebs Can you buy just the pots? I thought easyplant company only sold them pre-planted.
@UltraKoreanfir I think youre right. I didn’t buy the plant.
I agree it depends on the plant. As an aroid-lover, I will not put my philodendrons or monsteras in these pots. I learned the hard way to. But my polka dot plant loves it. You just need to use it for plants that have to stay wet all the time. I did have an easy plant given to me as a gift - my raven zz but I repotted him. I haven’t repurposed the pot yet.
I have a Hoya i got as an easy plant and it thrives.
I have seen more negative reviews on self watering and agree with @TheOddAsity
I don't have any self watering.mine all have good drainage holes to avoid root rot
