NEW LEMON TREE, need tips! <3
Helloo! I got this lemon tree yesterday and don’t know where to start. I’m unsure how far to have it from sunlight, how often to water it and how much water, etc! All tips are highly appreciated, thank you! <3 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #PlantTherapy #NewPlantMom #PlantCorner #Lemon #LemonLimePrayerPlant #LemonTree #LemonBalm #RarePlants

So do you know what kind of lemon tree it is? I’ve got a few lemon trees. I think I’ve got five or six that I grow in containers, all but one. My Meyer’s is in the ground. (We are seeing if we can push the zone on it.) But depending on the kind of lemon, you will want to adjust a few things. I grow a lot of citrus. 🍋‍🟩 🍊 So let’s start at the beginning— lemons like bright light! They like humidity and can adjust (all but some NZ lemons, but even those in the right situation can produce), so like most citrus fruit, they like roomy pots— don’t be scared to go bigger— they don’t love being repotted. Just watch your watering; they like having colder toes and warm air around them. Air circulation is a big thing for them. Make sure you have a really good draining soil. I personally do a mix of orchid bark with perlite. I also add, depending on what I have available at the time, either a pony or black lava rocks and, of course, clean, good sand. I get double-washed play sand on Amazon, and I mix that together before I plant my tree in the soil for extra drainage. I use Fox Farm, and I do a mix of coconut coir, cream of crop, and a potting soil… so citruses can be tricky for a lot of people, but I actually find them one of my easier ones.
@Idplantthat thank you for the tips, I greatly appreciate it! <3 (sorry for the late response!) I figured out, I do believe it’s a Meyers <3
