Brandy is pushing out another leaf. The last 2 and this one are noticeably lighter in color...is that unusual?
@GracedStrapwort Iโ€™ve seen that happen but I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s an issue to worry about. Perhaps these leaves got more light than the previous ones?
@MariansOasis She is actually getting less light. Her rapid growth over the last 8 weeks moved her from a 3" pot to a 5.5" pot. She grew 4.5" in height. She was on top shelf under the light and is now on the bottom of the cupboard.
@GracedStrapwort Nothing to worry about. It is not unusual for new leaves on a Calathea Rosy to be significantly lighter, pale green, or even blush-pink, appearing very different from the dark, mature foliage. This is normal; these young leaves harden off, darken, and deepen in color over several days or weeks as they mature.
Oh my gosh! They are beautiful, you definitely have the green thumb ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿฉต The only one Iโ€™m not as familiar with is your 3rd, is it similar to philodendron or monstera? I kinda feel I should know this.. but ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜‚
@Ms.Persnickety
Thank you for the information. I am really enjoying her growth and variations in color and leaf pattern. She has come so far
@Idplantthat It's also called #PhilodendronGoeldii but the powers that be changed it...
@ZestyWhiteghost all of that is so beautiful! Congrats! ๐ŸฅณSince you own a philo, Iโ€™ll ask you a couple of infos: I have a Philodendron McColley Finale (apparently) which has recently put out a new leaf (already incoming when I bought it). Do you think it appears to be healthy? Iโ€™m a bit concerned since the soil seems to dry out pretty quickly and I donโ€™t want to risk overwatering.. also, it hasnโ€™t put out aereal roots yet and its new leaf is perfect but smaller than the others. Well, for the latter I know itโ€™s possibly the amount of light I can provide, and with being in a North facing room thatโ€™s not sooo much ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ thanks in advance!
@EatMoreVeggies if you think it can handle it, repot it. And check the roots. If the soil is always dry, it could be because there is more roots than soil... And if you can, use a grow light if you cannot give it enough light... I have them all over. You have a beautiful plant! I'm sure the new leaf will get bigger as it matures! Hope this helps! If not please ask! Someone will jump on also to help!! #GregGang to the rescue!! ๐Ÿž๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿชด๐ŸŒต๐Ÿœ
