HAPPY JUNE @TheWateringHole!!!

There’s a special satisfaction in finding the ✨RIGHT✨ spot for a plant, isn’t there?!?

These 4 “orchid cacti” are relatively new to me and I’ve tried them in different places around the house looking for a good fit 😘👌🏻

And … 🥁🥁🥁 … his southern facing window with a little dappled shade from the Bloodgood Maple outside seems to be JUST the ticket! 🎟️ 🙌

Seeing all this new growth has me downright giddy 😁👏 Dare I hope for blooms??? 🤞🏻 I’m so inspired that I moved my monster Christmas Cactus back to this window too 🎄

Where are seeing inspiring new growth on this first day of June? 🌱☀️

It sounds great. I wish I could see them. Pictureless Greg has been a bit lackluster for me recently. Fingers crossed for your blooms.
I have a lot of inspiring growth as well - and not just in flat mite population. Several hoya blooms are ready to burst, some new ones as well. Will post once they are here.
Oh dang it, @debbiedo I didn’t get the notification for this post 🫣🫠 but we had the same idea 😂 🤷‍♀️

Loving all your new growth, and that Christmas cactus is indeed a monster, WOW! 🤯 🤩 I think I found the sweet spot for mine, so much so that last night my husband commented that he had so many new baby leaves/stems. (They’re stems right? Not actually leaves? Or maybe I have that the wrong way round.) If I get the energy to get up and go take a photo I will, but after a morning of watering outside before this heat wave, and washing AND folding AND putting away 2 loads of laundry so far (ahem, where’s my medal?) , I am zonked. So I will leave with with some photos I posted two hours after you, just hope you haven’t seen them yet 😘😜🤪

My first real peduncles, repotted crassipetiolata, bountiful strawberry harvest, and Mother’s Day snap dragon 🐉
@debbiedo @DreamMachine

Wow girls!

You're spoiling us.
Two #thewateringhole's in one day!!!

What a treat!
@MusicalRedmint I didn’t realize you’re not seeing ANY pictures, how frustrating! I sure hope that’s not going to be widespread 😬
@DreamMachine 😂😂😂 Great minds!
@DreamMachine I want those 🍓🍓🍓!!! And yes, I think you’re right that Christmas Cacti just have stems 🤔
Good morning @debbiedo I’m loving your epiphyllums! 🥰. I got cuttings from a friend back in the fall sometime, so several months ago now. They’re all outside and I’m kind of experimenting with which spot outside is best for them so looking for “sweet spot” location too, just outdoors 🤪. What I found is, they’re pretty happy no matter the exposure. The one exception being on the eastern side of the house in direct sunlight probably from 9 o’clock until 2 o’clock, and that plant has produced a flower but not as much new leaf growth as the others. The flower buds are quite different looking than leaf buds. I’ll see if I saved a pic. So far I’ve observed that flower production might depend on color because the first few blooms have been red. She gave me fuchsia, coral and white too. One fuchsia bloomed yesterday, I’ll get a pic later. No white so far. Your Christmas cactus is a beast 🙌👍🥰🎉. Gorgeous!!!
@debbiedo here’s a couple of pictures of flower buds 😊
@CutePolypremum Let’s say we did it on purpose just for you Joanie! 🙌😉 @DreamMachine
@MariansOasis I love your Epiphyllum experiment, Please keep sharing the results! 🧪

The Christmas Cactus came from my mom’s plant LONG ago and, thanks to @princesspitstop ‘s challenge, last year it put out its first big bloom 🥳
@MariansOasis Ahhhhhhhh! Your pics have me SO EXCITED for blooms!!! 😬🤩🙌🥁👀
@debbiedo oh yes the challenge!👍 That’s one outstanding Christmas cactus! What month did it bloom?
@debbiedo @DreamMachine the flowers 🌸 are amazing! I’ve not had a jungle cactus epiphyllum before so it is pretty darn exciting 🫠. I’ve got a Ric Rac cactus epiphyllum anguliger but it’s quite different from oxypetalum.
I also just read that epiphyllum means “upon the leaf” referring to how the flowers develop. A misnomer it says because epiphyllum, like all other cactus, don’t have leaves. Their flowers grow on branches (stems). So now we know 😆
@MariansOasis December 🎄
@debbiedo @CutePolypremum 💯 planned on purpose 😜
@debbiedo Your Christmas cactus is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! 🥰 I've already got the beginning of October marked on the calendar to start the process all over again! 🎉🙌
@princesspitstop Thank you Heidi ❤️ It’s marked in my calendar too!
@MariansOasis That’s super interesting Marian, it’s like they’re TRYING to confuse us 😂
@debbiedo it’s so pretty! 😍
@Ponytailmom Thank you Darah!
