This is in fact a flower, correct? Not an alien? I am absolutely astonished. 1) I had no idea that these things bloomed? 2) I can't manage to keep an anthurium alive to save my life but I can manage a bloom on an alocaisa? 3) I treated this thing for spider mites for weeks and weeks just a couple months ago. Infact I think I stopped looking at it with a magnifying glass just last week! I whole heatedly thought this was a leaf coming in! Does this mean I can relax that the spider mites have successfully been eradicated? Soooooo many QUESTIONSβοΈ. I thought I would share because it's actually a REALLY PRETTY flower, HUH? and I am wondering if the color of the bloom varies between the "dragon scale" variants or no? @TheConservator #plantaddict #happyplants #newgrowth #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #adhdplantlovers

Hey Brandy!!!!
Woo hoo!!!! π ππ π
That's A flower all right, on an already gorgeous Silver Dragon.
You really gave him tender loving care and he's thanking you.
It's very rare for a Silver Dragon to produce flowers. I'm excited for you because mine put out it's first 2 flowers recently.
It's best if you snip off the flower at it's base asap after it flowers to allow nutrients to reach the existing and future leaves.

Brandy...I just noticed your card says the pot your Silver is in has no drainage.
Let him recover from all the trauma he's gone through with the spider mite treatmens, and in very early Spring, he'll need to be repotted in one that has good drainage.
He looks very healthy!
