My new #Orchid! Arundina graminifolia, the Bamboo Orchid!...
My new #Orchid! Arundina graminifolia, the Bamboo Orchid! I found this little beauty at the convenience store where i also found Ruffles® Original [my Alocasia 'Low Rider']. And as a cherry-on-top, it's a NATIVE XD. Pardon the photo, it just rained.

By the way, i notice a lot of the Bamboo Orchids on Greg look more like Dendrobium and Phalaenopsis orchids, what's up with that?

@Araceae I can’t say I know much about Bamboo Orchids as I don’t have one but it is a lovely plant to have and I’d love to see some more photos of yours.
It is likely Greg has mistakenly ID other orchids as Bamboo orchids and so its reference photos are not accurate. It is something you could raise either the Greg team. I guess part of the reason it it’s relative rarity compared to more common orchids.

@Seymour i wouldn't say 'rare', but maybe that's just my area
They're often used in landscaping here, easier to grow than even some easy orchids, flower year round and biodiversity attracting
Oh, and they can get to a metre in height as a terrestrial orchid

@Seymour let me know when you find one!
One thing to note also is that they are much more tolerant of direct sun than other orchids. Otherwise they aren't picky at all all. They also seem to tolerate monsoons very well
