Hello everyone, it’s n again needing help
So my neighbor knows I love plant but she overwatered a lot and the brings them to me to fix lol it’s really kind of her.🙏🏽
My delima she brought a prayer plant. Tomato plant, Basil, ponytail palm and a cluster of flowered begonias. 💀They’re all on their last leg and I don’t know if that can be saved. I really appreciate her thinking of me! Such a God send to get so many rescues at once! But I’m kinda at a lost🤷🏽♀️
Oh my! and flies galore! Came with them! 😢
My marigolds came dead; so I got seeds and looking for live ones.
This has been a rough yr for me but I’m thankful she thinks of me but she think I’m a miracle worker 🤣
What can I do to save one or two if at all possible . Pictures below! Anybody!

Hi Sherri @Preciousplants1 that’s very sweet of your neighbor but the pressure to try and fix things can be a lot! Especially because you know if she hadn’t overwatered much of this could have been avoided. But all isn’t lost from what I see 👍. The tomato plant looks quite full and healthy. Look for tomato bugs which are actually huge 🐛 😳. They’re huge & easy to see and pick off. The basil leaves 🍃 look good too, no black or slimy leaves which I expected to see. Maybe just fluff up the soil to aerate it, that will dry out the top and discourage more gnats. The begonia despite some funky looking leaves is salvageable. I’d pinch back any areas with unhealthy leaves and hang it on a porch or balcony. Getting rid of those sad looking areas will make it look better and allow more airflow thru the middle part. The prayer plant is probably the iffiest to me, it looks like it has some pests. I hope after all you’ve been through it’ll stay outside.
@MariansOasis gm morning Marian thank you. I have not brought anything inside my house. 😳no flowers for sure! Not after all I’ve been through so far with pest. The begonia was full of flowers 🌷 and I’ve cut a lot off already.
I’ve trimmed everything she brought except the basil. I separated it into different containers.
The ponytail might just survive: but they’ll all be outside.
I’m spraying with neem in the morning and at night.
Yes it’s a bit of a challenge. I think I’ll try n save what I can and just not worry about the rest.

@MariansOasis this is the ponytail and it looks better than the rest. It’s soaked as we. I haven’t touched it except to sit it where it can get lots of sun .
@Preciousplants1 Hi Sherri dear ☀️ I agree with Marian @MariansOasis regarding the health of most of them. For the flies— are they real tiny flies? Fungus gnats perhaps? They’re attracted to damp wet soil to lay their eggs so it would make sense if your neighbor overwatered everything. If you can let everything dry out pretty well that will go far with reducing the fungus gnats.
I’m also so glad to hear you’ve kept all of these outside. 😮💨 You’ve got a heart of gold, 💛 but you don’t need more pests in your life. And like Marian said, everything but the calathea looks pretty good!

@Preciousplants1 ponytail should probably be okay but only leave in direct sun if it’s used to it. Otherwise start more protected and gradually increase sun exposure. Their leaves can sunburn.
@DreamMachine Gm Nadia thanks, you’re so right👍🏽 after the thrips and Leaf-footed bugs I can’t take anymore infestation!
yes n no theses are full grown flies . I’ve put yellow sticky traps. There are both fungus gnats and the annoying picnic flies on the sticky traps. I believe @ MariansOasis is right.

I came home from church and there were all these plants in my yard. She does had some on her porch. I don’t know what they are and I’ve spoken with her about watering. She so sweet it would kill me if I hurt her feelings

I’m thinking bad compost! From the basil, but I took it out of the pot and will be monitoring it today.
