#AfricanViolet #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy I was watering tonight and I just wanted to show off my two flame violets. They are just finishing flowering and probably need repotting but I love the color and the soft fuzzy leaves. #FlameViolet
Beautiful!! 🀩 @Shells_Garden I had a flame violet once and she bloomed for me a couple times, but then I unalived her last year πŸ˜” Any specific care you give yours? Mine was pulling her leaves into herself, like she was cold or perhaps it was too bright πŸ€” but I haven’t figured out exactly what she was trying to do.
@Shells_Garden Boy are they pretty love the colors. You got the green thumb
I’m in love with the first one; add another to my looong list! 🌱🌺🌼🌴
@DreamMachine hi Nadia, I had a set of African Violets for over a year. They did great until the soil got compacted and the leaves got wet. They are unalive now too. I keep these two in a grow tent with lights. They are grouped around many other plants so humidity isn’t a problem so far. I water once a week either from the bottom or only through the soil. The key is not to wet the leaves as they will rot. I used a combination of peat with regular soil and I amended that with pine bark, perlite, pumice and sand. I also added worm castings and ground horticultural charcoal for fertilizer.
@ILoveMyPlants thanks. I used to be adventurous and tried to grow new plants all the time. Now with so many, I’m just trying to keep them alive!!
