Fresh Nepenthes Pitcher Plant Leaves!
So here are some photos to show how Nepenthes grow their leaves, the new leaf hides in the previous one and as the old leaf grows, the new leaf emerges and pushes out from the old leaf, ultimately ending up on the opposite side to the last leaf (how clever!) Hopefully, the photos show this.
I was adding live sphagnum moss in the hopes of adding humidity for my Nepenthes and thought I would take some photos as well.
Have a good Good Friday everyone, I appreciate all the interest shown to these amazing plants πŸ₯°πŸ€©πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸ€— #newgrowth #freshleaffriday #freshfeaturedfriday #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #plantmafia #happyplants #carnivorousplants #greggers #greggang

This is very interesting. I think I might need to investigate getting a Nepenthes at some point! 😌
@JesssJungle LOL, I was just warning someone else of the temptation when you get a nepenthes so I had best give you the same warning πŸ˜† 🀣 πŸ˜‚ 😹 they are intriguing plants, maybe a little more challenging than your average carnivorous plant but in my opinion, totally worth it! But I'm biased LOL πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜… 🀣 there are so many colors and varieties these days and so many hybrids which are often better and grow better in a standard household. So blest to hold off as once you get a taste for them....hahaha I did warn you πŸš«βš οΈπŸ‘πŸ˜†πŸ˜ΉπŸ¦β€β¬›πŸ˜
@Seymour I will remember this, lol. πŸ˜†
@JesssJungle the main thing is if you do get any carnivorous plant, to have fun with it as they can be such intriguing and unique plants to grow. I posted some photos of one of my Nepenthes pitchers, they are beautiful...stunning at times ! Maybe I should have heeded my own warning LOL πŸ˜† πŸ˜… πŸ˜‚ πŸš«βš οΈπŸ‘
This is fascinating 🀯 I never knew pitcher plants grew this way, that’s so clever! I like to imagine tiny little cogs whirring in their little plant brains when they’re articulating this process, it’s so involved 🌱🧠✨
@signorebean they are remarkable plants and there is still a mystery how different plants totally unrelated manage to develop pitchers, traps etc. But the more we look, the more we find out just how clever their "plant brains" are, they even attract insects using ultraviolet light, like a mosquito catcher! I could go on and on but I appreciate your interest in them. Glad the photos made some sense. πŸ§ βš™οΈβš™οΈβš™οΈβ›“οΈπŸ”—πŸ§¬πŸ˜€
