Happy Monday!
I purchased my White Queen Caladium as a tuber (photo attached). Therefore, I’ve had the pleasure of watching the growth completely from start to finish.
I noticed a couple weeks ago that there was some growth that didn’t look familiar to me. Keep in mind this is my first caladium ever.
I let the plant do its thing and I just watched. But every day I would look at the “weird” growth and think….. why the heck won’t this leaf unfurl.
Until this morning.
It dawned on me. Is it possible my Caladium is blooming? AND CLICK.
I THINK THATS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING.
I am just so excited this morning, I’ve read that this is pretty rare indoors🤷♂️

Yup! That’s definitely a flower you have going on. Some caladiums grow flowers easily, and others you can have their whole lives never have one. 🤣 Congratulations on getting a gorgeous one! I love caladiums and grow quite a few. If you ever want to try a great caladium store, that’s good. - Blue Buddha caladium store.
@WarrantedMelon do you keep yours outdoors? From what I read it’s less likely they will go dormant if inside. They can stay in active growth all year round! I also had no idea they flowered, I was quite shocked.
@luvmygreenhouse Thank you!!! From my understanding all Caladium start from tubers, but I know a lot of people sometimes only see the planted ones. You can get them almost anywhere- nursery, sometimes places like Walmart/Home Depot/ Lowe’s, TikTok shop, Palmstreet. I got this one specifically from TikTok shop

I planted the tuber inside. I would put it in a pot that aligns with the size of the tuber- I put mine in a 6 inch pot. On the tuber there will be multiple growth buds. You want to plant those buds with the points facing up, so find the side of the tuber with the most of the points facing upward. It’s ok if the points are under the dirt, they will find their way out. Keep it consistently moist, not soaking wet but don’t let it dry out fully. I gave mine direct sun in my west facing window!
