Hey guys! Many of you know about my obsession with Tradescantia. I'm especially fond of the zebrina species, and have been gradually collecting them in hopes to one day have all 23 (yep, there are 23 different zebrina cultivars!).
My most recent acquisition is the newest official zebrina cultivar called 'MaeVerde'. The lady who named it and got it registered also happens to run my favorite Etsy shop, and I got lucky and snagged the very first one she put up for sale! How cool is that?!? π€ I knew my fellow plant nerds on here would appreciate lol π
MaeVerde is the result of a spontaneous sport mutation of another zebrina cultivar called 'Flame Dance' π Photo 1 is MaeVerde, photo 2 is Flame Dance, and photo 3 shows them side by side.

@OhGollyItsJolly looks like a zebrina 'Violet Hill', based on the width of the silver bands and also the somewhat bumpy leaf texture π€ And thank you! It's literally taking over my entire house lol

@stephongreg Congratulations π on that unique acquisition!! Itβs very pretty π€©! I am still refining what type of plant πͺ΄ nerd π€ I am going to be. So far it has changed a couple of times. It has been aloes at one time. Recently, Iβm up to 4 different varieties of pothos. Glad youβve found your niche!
This is great! The only thing that will be cooler is when YOU have your OWN cultivar named Stephania!
